Seems like it has been quite a while since we last heard anything from PGI. Maybe I missed the announcement, but when exactly are they supposed to be getting back to work? Or if they have been back to work, where is the communication?

Next week (as per Garth's response in Q&A regarding something that needed actual dev input).

Went looking for that post you mentioned, but didn't find it. I'll take your word for it. Looks like they'll have had a nice long vacation from work... hopefully they come back roaring and ready to go.

Maybe IGP got us all a holiday present and fired the devs to hire people who know what they are doing? :)

Maybe they are too busy working to stop and make a announcement every time a new line of code is finished?

That is possible, writing out a few paragraphs can take a couple of days, if not weeks.

"Q: Well as I asked in (StD29), will any of the Spider variants be able to equip the Guardian ECM? [Monsoon]
A: I'll have to ask DavidB when he's back from his holiday (next week). [Garth]"

However, Paul is already working and so does Garth, so not all of them are still enjoying the extended holidays.

*shrug* I don't begrudge anyone time off to spend with their families and loved ones during the Holiday.

Sucks that Christmas Holidays all came while this game is in need of so much attention though. Because while they may be returning to work next week, that doesn't mean they have anything ready to put in the game at that time.

I'm really curious how they will attract players for their launch when open beta effectively was the launch from a player perspective.

It would seem different departments are on different amounts of holiday time (it was indicated 'the artists' were still on holiday). Paul still seems MIA, Garth is around, some staff names(Daemur) have appeared in the forum user list

Every word is sent through an advanced hi-tech check before any communicated from the devs can approved for public use.

in the industry there are various names for this process, but normal people call it "spell checker".

It is terribly taxing on the servers and requires the full effort of the team.

P.S Aren't artists from all the various forms of "art" always on vacation? If you're an artist and you don't feel like you're on vacation, you're doing it wrong.

Isn't that the Cicada-3M pretty much? Minus full torso twist? A/C-10 and a small laser? Wooo baby.

LOL. wonder why this game comes out crappy. PGI has terrible work ethics. most people get a week or a day off for break. they get a month off.

You probably meant "most people in the USA", where employees used to get fired on the spot for daring to ask for time off, or find out they have been replaced when they get back.

I used to work with people who were afraid to go on vacation just for this very reason. I wonder, does this (i.e. getting replaced while on vacation) still happen today?
