Currently, PPJoy virtual axes are not recognised by the MWO keybind utility.
Interestingly if you use X360ce to emulate an XBOX 360 controller, the game recognises it at some level (The emulated controller moves the mouse around in mechlab, like a real xbox controller does) but the keybind routine does not recognise input from the virtual axes.

If this worked, we could get everybody working with the control method they wanted to use NOW and PGI could push back an overhaul of the joystick code safe in the knowledge that the community could work around existing issues using virtual axes.
If cl_joystick_throttle range also defaulted to ?1? (There IS a stop in the middle) then we could emulate both methods using virtual axes and users would not need to edit game files at all.

Also, this would make life better for many non-joystick users as well. For example, many people would like hotkeys for full speed, half speed, full speed back etc and all this is very easy if we could use a virtual throttle axis.
