'MECH REPAINTS & MODS - A FEW PERSONAL FAVORITES:
Sometimes much more for the challenge they have been then for aesthetic reasons, I have a few that mean more to me than the rest. And these are, in no particular order:
House Fujita Catapult: (yes I know, too shiny, but that was also the point... and the challenge with all this abundance of copper finish)
17th Avalon Hussars Raven: (have a weakness for the 17th Avalon, and spent time on this one designing the insignia, adding subtle polish and steal grain effects along with gold gradients and dirt)
2nd McCarron collab work with Hayden: (what can I say... it was a pure privilege to work on this already beautiful piece by the Father of the Repaint thread; in this case, most of the effort was on adding touch-up refinements around the eyes and the beak as well as adding polish, dirt and fx)
Order of the Faithful Cicada: (inspired entirely by CSO Dak's work from camospecs.com, this pirate gang using 'as they were' centuries old 'Mechs found eroded and corroded on a desert world represented the ultimate wear and tear challenge)
DC 1st Ghost Regiment Centurion: (from a request - with the combination of tattoo effects and wear and tear effects over a somewhat dirty white was a huge challenge, which makes it my personal favorite to date even though I now see some mistakes I made on it...)
...
Well, like I said, that's not all of them but you have a better idea of the evolution I went through over the course of 2012. Unless I forgot some important ones, that's it for this thread, as I do not intend to add to it, unless another year comes by (or some other milestone warranting an art post update.)
Hope there is no offense taken as all of these are actually reposts. Figured though it was a good exercise to go back at them myself and share a bit, even at the risk of being accused of shameless self promotion. Otherwise, I sincerely hope you have enjoyed.
