The problem with F2P games mostly is that they are based on something but really have nothing deeper into them except filling the pockets of the makers I wish there would be a MechWarrior game for offline too as with current graphics engines and with all the BT lore sky would be the limit. MWO is a F2P so basically a "Spreadsheet Warrior" for min/max and learning to game the game End of banter, back to Mech after the darn flu gives up

So better than nothing! Also, love the game mechanics could be so big!

Full Server authority. It's fun to yo-yo (or rubber band if you like to call it that), because I'm trying to walk over a rock and the server is telling my client "no", leading to me dithering in place and getting blasted in the *** and losing the game.
Sliding down mountains. I enjoy being able to walk up nearly any incline at .01kph, only to slide, and fast, down the the slope for stopping completely. Sniper nests? nah.
Boaters. LRM, SRM, medium laser, they are the bane of tactical and diverse mech construction and use. Nerfing heat won't stop it. fixing the issue at it's core will. Figure out what that core is yourselves.
I'll continue to play this game until it becomes another Tribes:***-end. The company that bought he rights to make it ruined the Tribes franchise, and then abandoned it to a single dev to work on other projects after taking people's money for RMTs in T:A.

Better than nothing but so much wasted potential Damn shame the days of hardcore simulators are mostly gone, all there is are these bunnyhop twitch shooters with instant gratification and ePeen stroking Imagine a Mech simulator where you actually had to think and not just rush out, manage the systems and all that. Of course BT is sci-fi but I think ppl get the point. F2P does not give this opportunity as it has to appeal to a broader audience for income, sigh..

I wish they'd have just made a Mech game that was "Free to play trial mode", but remained locked at upper levels for a strict 40 dollars. F2P is the game of "good" games. The whole model of gaming disintegrated when people started being able to just release a "finished" game and patch things later. F2P is just another degradation of an already failing methodology.
I don't buy games anymore, unless they have proven worth. I'll go from "free" to "40$" if a game proves itself, but I'm not premature ejaculators like all those founders.

That sounds like it would have been fun, and what I was hoping for when I bought into founders.
It is a shame I was mistaken.

Well, shelled out nearly 100€ for Legendary Founder's Package because I really like BT. Do I regret it? No, because could have used that money on something more useless as well. I have got a lot of fun out of MWO and even got to know a lot of cool people..and the opposite ones as well, but ignoring them helps
F2P is a trend these days. Good or bad, depends on how it will shape the games. Kickstarter projects are interesting and some even seem to have pulled it off and making to a game. So there is some "traditional" game making too

Many players have paid money and at this stage calling it open beta is a misnomer, the game is in actuality released. And as released game you need to give it a critical eye. When you look past the pretty explosions what you got is a shell, a shell of a game waiting to be filled. The question is with what, because we are on the clock with an expectant player base who are optimistically hopeful yet fading fast.
To PGI, the truth will set you free. Let us know what is happening, really happening. Not the vague, devil may care lackadaisical answers to the chosen largely irrelevant questions.
For what we have here...

Tired of hearing this, if you played the game, 70 hours is 15 certs an hour, if you sat around and try to snipe all day on top of the highest hill you can find it might just be 70 or more hours. If you play the game and be a team player, you'll get a new gun within a couple days. I get between 30-40 certs an hour normally, that is half the time of 70 hours.

erm... nope...
i got only 1800 drops
i've always played with premium time, plus i have all the founders & hero mechs to help with the cbills..
i've bought only 4 mechs via MC btw (DDC, C4, Jenner K & F)
i do play everyday after work and weekend nights... but is not by far different from the pre-MWO gaming habits..
if i could stop premium time now i would have, but i have 58 days to go... if nothing worth it comes along until then, i will take a break... got a ton of games i got from the last steam sale that i haven't even fired up...

Now I see that it looks like i've been too optimistic about the future of the game and PGI's ability to make this future real.
- Gameplay and tiny maps are boring
- Network and graphic engines are bugged as ****.
- Dynamics of content production is low as ****.
- And finally, current game-designers(yes, Paul - that's about you) seem to be incompetent and even don't see the things that are obvious for the most part of community. The last and the greatest failure was an ECM implementation, consequences of which were predicted by many people right after the reading of tutorial that explained the way ECM will be implemented.

Seriously, just take your break. There's a patch on the 15th, and one on the 29th, and likely two-three in February, and so on every two weeks or so. The game - as everyone should know by now - is still developing; there's bound to be phases where it's not as fun for some as it was before a patch, it'll likely change with the next patch.
So go on, take a break. Your 'mechs will still be here when you get back, polished and fully armed and armoured, waiting to take you right back out on the battlefield.
