got Thermal and Night tied to a thumb roller on my mouse, so I tend to swap normal/thermal quite frequently. I'm blowed if I'm going to play the whole game in Thermal, it looks pants. I tend to bump into scenery in thermal so night vision is used whenever I negotiate tricky NRC terrain.

I perfer the Normal Vision. It's easyer to make out details (Spesificaly, the target's cockpit). I use Thermal Vision to find them when it's to hard to find them with Normal Vision. Details can be easyer to see with Night Vision then Thermal Vision. But, I don't use it very often. Mostly, because I forget about it or I already know exactly were the target's cockpit is on the Mech.
Night Vision has it's moments were it is most usefull. Those situations just don't arise very often.
I suppose if Night Vision didn't make everything the same shade of green. I may be more usefull. Thing's tend to blend together to much with the way it works right now.

Still using thermal to highlight the enemy at 900+ M for sniping!
You will not believe how much having a graphics card makes! 400m was once as far as i could see!
