I have noticed that on the MechLab screenshonts and video when you mount weapons, you are only provided with type, tonnage, size and cost of the weapon. But player needs to know damage, cycle time, range and heat as well to adjust his loadout. It would be better to have these stats hands-on in the MechLab. Now in the video and screenshots not only these stats are not shown in the list of available equipment on the right (well, it might become too cramped showing all the stats), but even when you have selected the item from the list, they're not shown in the "specifications" area below.

Second, when you're loading ammo in your mech, I think there should be an option to show/highlight only ammo for weapons currently mounted, for obvious reason.

Agreed on both points!

I hope this is something they've already thought of and will be implemented in more recent versions of the mechlab.

I don't think they had finalized the damage (balancing them still) so thats probably why they were omitted

Ya, I suspect they intentionally didn't show any stats, because it would have caused folks to freak out no matter how perfectly balanced they were.

Also, you can see below the tonnage/slots information on the bottom, it says

http://mwomercs.com/...ab-screenshot-5
'Medium laser description here.'

Lots of room there to include the basic damage/range/heat info.

I asked the Devs in a forum post if you'd be able to see weapon stats such as range, damage, heat, etc. in the Mechlab as you are picking-and-choosing weapons*, to which a Developer quoted my question and responded with a

"Yes, you'll be able to see all the weapons' stats, we're not going to make you flip through your Technical Manuals while playing MW:O."

So, there should be a full suite of weapons stats upon release.

(* - my question wasn't answered as it was asked, but oh well...)

Would really love more detail on ranges and cycle times, that would be very helpful!

It would be nice if we can see the stats so we can make good choses. Tho we all know what does what and how much in the old school and up to date games of Battletech and mechwarrior but come on... Please put something like. How much heat this will give if you use and weapon cool down and damage from mid to ranged. Would be alot more helpfull to people that never played the game or even heard of mechwarrior or battletech

The lack of damage values may be good...makes it harder to spread-sheet uber-builds and stripping the world of diversity. In my opinion, there should never be any definite numbers released on anything, just general descriptions for each piece of equipment.

Make the damage module less hit-point oriented and more system'* ***-box based with some dice-rolls to mix things up a bit. I'd rather game-play and builds be more organic, less gameable by exploiters.

i think they should add heat cost and range (min/max). I agree with not showing dmg value cause a wide variety of different mechs will be better than forced to only use the same weapons with the same mechs cause you cant contend with uber builds. also hard point restrictions should be given when your trying to buy a mech so you can see what will go in it and be able to not have to buy alternate after alternate untill you find the right one

I agree that there should be some basic statistics for stuff (damage / range / heat generation), but another stat I would like to see is when you load out your ammo, how many shots with the installed weapon it would give. i.e. you load 1 ton of LRM ammo.. you have 2 LRM20 launchers.. show like 15 salvos each. But if you have only 1 LRM20 installed..... then it would show 30 salvos.

Totally agree with the need for more stats. Especially heat data as it's hard to gauge if any custom design will overheat badly. I'll probably use a 3rd party mech construction program for now..The ammo information is also rather vague, we simply do not know upfront how many salvos a mech would have.

There was a nice post that someone had posted on the Beta forums during closed beta, that listed:

Damage, Heat, Weight, Recycle time, & Shots per Ton (For ammo weapons). Maybe someone will repost it in the new forums.

It was probably the most useful post anyone had made.

There was a forum thread on the weapon values posted by the devs. I have it on my favorites bar. After they changed the website, I can't get to it anymore. Hopefully, they repost it.
