But you couldn't know this, since you clearly don't have a Beta Key, otherwise you wouldn't be posting this. Right?

Hypothetically, if you where in the Beta, how would you compare the fun factor between TT and Tactics? Significant difference or is it the TT in a 3D world? I.e. all TT rules apply?

I love the Battletech IP and was so happy to see it reappear (Have checked out tactics, but the card game stuff? Nah, not doing it) I guess I was just hoping that I had missed something or that someone knew what happened to the IP if this game fails. I have played every computer version of the game to date, even the awful Linux versions.
If MWO added the things below I would LOVE it. Heck I would be happy combining BT: The Crescent Hawks Inception with the current combat drops rather than the turn based combat but I really want;
1. A persistent world, that changes with the ebb and flow of houses/clans (Though honestly, I could enjoy a 3025-3049 game without any clans)
2. Units with supply limits/mercs with contract limits
3. External to mech avatar that has skills
4. Capturable Mechs
5. Scrap and salvage/Repair and rearm meaning something
6. Feeling the tech and availability limitations of the universe
7. Boarding Dropships, external Jumpship travel and jumpship hull combat in space!
8. Solaris as a place you can travel to and play gladiator
9. Tech skills
10. Squishies/LRM hover/PPC tanks I can ignore for balance reasons but they would be cool.
We all cannot be a Liao (Xiang) or a Victor Steiner-Davion, but the game would be fun regardless.

I've always felt that BT is the perfect game universe for a killer MMORPG that combines the traditional RPG elements ala WoW, Rift, etc, as well as adds the fighting element in mechs, tanks, spacecraft, and atmospheric flights.
They pick a time period...3060 for example, then go from there. Could make for a huge and dynamic game.

Having spent time on a lot of game forums over the years this is pretty accurate. A vocal minority bang pots and wail endlessly no matter how good the game is. They decided long ago that the game failed and nothing will change their mind. Instead they will just keep moving the goalpost around so that they can claim PGI is always lacking.
What is even more sad is that they will continue playing this game for years, despite claiming that the game is terrible.
It wont be until they move on to another game that they will talk pleasantly about how much fun they had playing MWO.

My real question is simple, if this game collapses where do we go?
Iron Brigade? LOL
Hawken? LOL
Some reworked version of a ten year old platform? Not laughable but still sad.
I do not want some silly hammer weapons from a bot that may as well be a person carrying weapons game. I do not want televisions or refrigerators, I want my MTV to be MechTV.
Where does the IP go it PGI blows it?
it's like one of the DEV's said; when everyone is complaining about everything being over-powered - the game is near balanced.
That does not mean there aren't things that need to be tweaked. IMO they're a long long way off from blowing it.

Seriously though, the cynics aren't right. PGI is making progress, it takes times to hire people and get them up to speed and they are breaking new ground with the cryengine in a lot of cases. Given the time frame to now from when the Founders program ended and the size/quality of the Dec Patch I think it is very likely that the Jan/Feb/Mar patches will show a marked increase in output and fixes on PGI's part. If not they will be in pretty dire straights.

Shadowrun Online
Mechwarrior Tactics
Mechwarrior Living Legends
What ever new interesting indie game catches my eye on steam.
I still read, I'll just read a little more.
Going to the movie theater.
Walking around town more.
Maybe look for a gaming group in my city.
I'll be doing this stuff any way.
