In no particular order these are the 4 I feel are most vital until CW debuts. You hit pretty much all the sore points though and I would love to see them all addressed.

Hardest poll I have ever taken.

Wasnt sure of what one thing I want to fix. I just want to see all of those things except weapons ballancing.

Voted for netcode,

Didn't see an option for "not a F2P game at all"

I want to get back into it... But the lack of narrative is making me burn out lately. I have played more MechCommander this winter break because its the only other MW title (besides MW4: Mercs) that I can get to run on win7.

I voted for netcode but I'd really like to see the FPS/graphic performance improve. (both of which are being actively worked on) :P

I personally feel net code fixes will handle much of the following:

1. Lag shooting.
2. Knockdwn/collision removal
3. ECM woes

Indeed, in order to do the following properly, netcode has to be fixed:

1. Weapon balance
2. Weapon convergence/dumbtracking issues
3. matching for piloting skill.

So, it sort of handles six birds with one stone, or at least sets the stage for them being honestly resolved. Let's take an example: PPCs of all sorts currently need "tweaking". Right now, they are resolving toward a bit faster projectile lower heat, and EMP effect (HUD flicker).

Let's say that the high heat problem actually stems from having to fire at maximum potential ROF (thus no heat management) to make the weapon semi-effective in a match, because the hits are not hitting (due to faulty netcode). When netcode is fixed (after the "adjustments" are in), we may end up with a situation where the PPC is actually OP with all of the "tweaks", and more time has to be spent coding on balancing it.

It's really hard to say whether that's the case or not, but the bottom line is that hit detection and net code is a foundation from which you build. If 40% of the "misses" are actually "hits", you can't make a determination on whether the weapon is aeffective (or not). People just stop using the ineffective weapon (except for 6 PPC stalker lulz). Other issues with the projectile "warping" might also be attributed to problems with the netcode as well. You really can't say. There's a lot of guesswork involved when a key basic component like hit detection and net code aren't working properly.

You forgot integrated voice com so that pugs can talk to each other. That's what I would vote for if it were on the pole. Then we can also eliminate this up to 4 or 8 man only non-sense.

After that, let's pick off some easy stuff. We should be able to spec a whole mech before hitting purchase, even on one we don't own yet! Upgrades should be permanent unlocks for that chassis variant. Camo and colors should be unlocks. Take out ECM until electronic warfare is really ready. Give streak cats a 5% chance to be struck by orbital fire support and explode whenever they lock on. :P

What is the one thing I would fix?

I would ban all the whiners, trolls, ingrates, and alarmist doom sayers from posting on the forum.

Since that's not going to happen, I would say performance being netcode / warping etc..

Think the netcode is the most glaring issue at the moment. I would say it's more of a game changer than ECM. It's just like CB where speed is everything and everyone tries to get their mech to go as fast as possible. It would be nice to see lights move back to their recon role and be less out and out brawlers. With the netcode fixed lights would be able to go faster to suite the recon role more and still be vulnerable without every other mech having to bolt in big engines.

Collision/Knockdown only got 5 votes thus far? what is this.. just lights voting?

(Well I suppose they did vote for no lag shooting.)

Primarily because collisions really require accurate net code to implement.

Please add an option for Mechlab/Ingame chat with channels (like in EVE, Diablo3 etc.)

Er... what ingame chat in diablo3?! They pretty much lobby you according to servers, aka it's general chat has NEVER been the whole populance.

Netcode FIRST over anything else, it is tied into so many many issues and pretty much why the dev did a back track to remodel a working one, Once that is done the roadmap should be a little more on schedule, as mentioned by the devs a working netcode is a solid platform to build on top of.

1. Have a more hardhanded approach to the whine threads by the mods on the forums. Lock/delete any thread started that isn't constructive. Basically anything that doesn't offer a solution or points out a problem in a clear and constructive manner.

example: "PGI doesn't know how to balance" or "XXX has ruined MWO" or "SoandSo players should feel bad"

or

2. Add an ignore function so we can filter such threads out ourselves.

I honestly believe that would help MWO more so than any of the options in the poll. At least in the short term. This is of course placing priorities, as I do believe issues and bugs need to be fixed. But the amount of non-constructive threads cannot be great for the game.

Nothing in that poll about fixing the bad attitudes of certain players.

Wow that is quite the list of what would seem to be all very important fixes or features.

I think I have to agree with the majority though that cleaning up the code would help alleviate problems in other areas. It would at least give the players and PGI a better experience and therefore better data on what really needs work next.
