Just a thought. CCP (they make eve online) did a competition where players sent in designs for a new spaceship. The winning entry was then made into an ingame model by the devs.

Why not PGI have a competition to design a new map using whichever editor makes the correct kind of map for the game. The winning entry could then be polished by PGI and put into the game.

It'd mean we get a new map, PGI gets some great publicity and it hopefully reduces time between each new map.

Just a thought.

P.S. Please make a castle Brian map, ill love you long time :D

The difference between making a single ship and a map is huge. It would probably take as long and maybe even longer to look over the entries find the best, and then run it through the ringer to make sure it is up to proper quality as it would for them to just make their own map.

Yes never said it would be easy, but a good few players seem to be saying they want to be able to make their own maps. This would allow the modders some freedom but still keep the game properly controlled by PGI. A win win situation no?
