The Stalker headed to our cap, which we were right next to, so I followed him after having my team YELLING in my ear. Once we arrived I commenced to flogging him with my Cheesapult to no avail and it ended in a tie....
Amused, at first. Frustrated, next. Bored at the end.

moral of this story is that you should always have some sort of back up weapon. Issue is easily handled by not making teh cheese build.

Yep if you want the 90 alpha you sacrifice secondary weapons.
Could try 5 SRM6s and 1 SRM2 on a seperate weapon group to compensate if it's that big of an issue.

Moral of this story is there is a risk in taking an entirely ammunition dependent mech.

Still not a guarantee though. Some mechs don't have indestructible hardpoints and can lose entire loadouts, no matter what they are carrying.

Yes - you still deal damage just there's no change of knockdown. It's actually more dangerous now as there's a possibility of the collision getting stuck and repeating itself continually dealing damage.

I am guessing the Catapult got the other then started on the stalker. We watched for some 4 to 6 minutes as tthey tried ramming one another.
All that managed to accomplish was the catapult went critical CT (nose rammed the stalker). Of course, being on this side, no way of knowing if the stalker also went critical but you could see the damage zones blink when there was a collision.
I know collision works for same team, because I have bumped a team mate and killed him. we were on comms together so I sure got my earful not to mention the team kill penalty. No knockdown, just some damage. in my case enough, in the case of the OP, not enough.
I like having a secondary weapon as well...

So thats what happened to me and an atlas yesterday. I was in my Dragon and we got jammed up, next thing I know we were both bright red centers and no arms left. I thought it was from friendly fire lol.

My Cataphract that has the CT Energy Hardpoints usually loses the Medium Lasers before I even lose the arms lol. Would think the Catapult, with the similar "Here is my CT, please shoot it" profile, would have the same problem
