Conquest: Why Do We Get Resources Slower Now?

Not trolling - just wondering if anyone can suggest why this was done? Ive not played 1000's of conquest games but anedoctally I can say that almost none of them have ended due to tickets running out.

Thoughts?

1.7 seconds, last time I checked, was faster than 2.0 seconds.

Also.... tickets running out? They count up.
