The new pilot profile avatar on the home screen does not look like anything from Battletech at all. It kind of looks like the Hawken avatar was ripped off.

C'mon PGI we are way better than this.

Wow, you ppl can ***** about anything!

the avatar is ..too "heavy" hard to see details, black background..if it was supposed to be in cockpit it cannot be all black...probably the avatar would be changed over the time until the final shape of the game....at this moment i don't care what avatar we have, i care about the game.

Some people will ***** about anything lol. The pilot pic looks way better than past MW pilots have looked. And besides... It's a place holder just to test that it works. We will be able to customize our pilot's look and the profile picture I'm sure once this new Mech Bay 2.0 goes into effect. I can see us being able to design our MWs just as we can with our mech and our MW mat be able to walk around our full 3D Mech Bay. At least everything after Mech Bay 2.0 is just my wishful thinking lol

If you can't kill a Lose-ziel with a Mad Dog, you don't really deserve to be a Mechwarrior...

He was outnumbered and getting primaried. Cut him some slack.

It is the 31st century, and yes, everyone's at war. (again)
The battlefields of the future are the playground of huge robotic war machines known as battlemechs.
Piloting these awesome weapons of war, are men and women, the dregs of the dregs
ensuring that every battle will be lost .

They are...

...Derpwarriors...

A bunch of people forget that there are full body coolant suits. They were rare before becoming mass produced around 3035, and are considerably more expensive than a vest and your undies, but they do exist.

Also, in the MW4 video, the LRM launcher obviously rolled a crit, striking the Shadow Cat's un-CASEd ammo, making the reactor go critical. Same thing with Lead in his Mad Dog. Silly Davions, why wouldn't you use CASE in the Clan 'Mechs you use to guard the palace  ?

Another thing, Lead is obviously that one guy who always suicide charges the other team at the start of the match and dies within 20 seconds of engagement, barely doing any damage. Makes one wonder how he survived long enough to get assigned to Palace Guard duty. Even more so when he's on point in a Mad Dog. That thing's a fire support 'Mech!

Here's to hoping we can have palace guard duty in community warfare, to relive the epic moments of Sigma Leader.

Capitals won't be able to be taken. It's only border worlds and periphery that we will fight over.

He was providing a distraction so the evac choppers could take off without getting shot at. You can see them somewhere in the background and during a high angle shot in the foreground. It's called a sacrifice. :)

Anyway, I like the style of the picture. It has the right feel to it.

I thought it was funny
I pictured that Mad Dog pilot yelling Leroy Jenkins as he first encountered the enemy forces

I have been staring at that "no-picture" human shape for... I'm not even sure how long. PGI decides to go ahead and put in a picture of some dude in a tech'ed out helmet/face setup. It strikes me as being inspired by pilots, who wear very intense gear like that. I think, "This... is far better than what I had before". Does it perfectly represent me? Absolutely not. But it does give me something better to look at. Something I appreciate... and here you come. Running as fast as you can to the forums to whine that they did anything at all with it.

On top of that... it's nothing like Hawken. Hawken shows trendy lookin' ruffians hanging out on their TVs with legs posing in front of cities that all look like the inside of a chemical factory. I mean... come on man. Do you have to whine? To you have to be that guy? So eager to complain that you complain at any improvement at all...

Please... for all of our sakes and for PGI's, next time you feel like you have to complain. Go for a walk. Step away from the computer. Have a beer. Smoke something. Eat a sandwich. Do anything else... because you're about to look like a malcontent to your fellow players. My opinion of you formerly was null. Now... what do you think it is?

You are right, an improvement is an improvement and I'm sure it is just a placeholder.

It does however look like the standard Hawken forum avatar and nothing like something from the BT universe.

That being said I guess a lot of pilot gear would look similar and I shouldn't sweat the small stuff.

I guess I just dislike like that game so much that it bothered me to see something that reminded me of it on MWO.

I'm over it now. :)

Anyone have a saved image of the new pilot avatar? I personally think it's awesome, and makes sense, especially when other mechwarriors won't hesitate to aim for the cockpit if they get the opportunity.

Ok aside from the asinine OP posting, this thread has a lot of funny and win in it. I've laughed several times just reading it and I needed a good laugh today.
