whiney or not, it hurts the new player experience.

it´s also not about losing, really, at least from my perspective... steamrolling a match with 4 farmers on the opposing side feels not so great either.

of course it could still be winnable, it just shouldn´t be that way. for the sake of new players :)

You know what else hurts the new player experience? Being one of the first on your team to die, then being forced to wait for the match to finish before trying to play again... only to, again, be one of the first to die.

Yeah AFK farming, and sucide runs are lame, and the pilots that do this are just scrubs...

why for gods sake don´t they lock the mechBAY when you are in a match with one mech... i don´t get it how long it takes for them to make such an easy change. frustrating at least.

It probably only takes a few hours maybe 8 tops to write the code for something like this. Then you have testing, QA, etc. Assume about 40-man hours to get the whole thing out the door unless it involves hooks across multiple objects in the codebase (which is possible but impossible to say without knowing their code better). Which coder do you want to do the work? The one trying to find the memory leak in the video textures, the three trying to work on the netcode or the one working on a better implementation of TAG and NARC so that ECM is no longer the end-all-be-all?

There are lots of problems to address along with "new" development and only so many resources to go around. Trust me, the shop I work in is even worse. I've considered applying to work for PGI (IGP is the wrong end of the country) but sadly I am not a netcode specialist. I just noticed that they have a couple of UI positions open though... Hmmmm.

Hm seem to me a lot of new guys are posting for doing nothing at all and think locking the Mech-lab is a bad idea, but most of the guys that have more than 50 post and 30 days on their accounts wants something done about it. :)

the issue is the bots, the ones that sit afk or just do some repeated action. The dico's on the other hand can still be related to network issues and blackscreens. So for bots I agree for the report system, the ability to report a player AT ALL would be nice to have in the first place. After XX amount of reports ect it goes in for review by GM's for a temp 3 day ban for first strike a 2 week ban for 2nd strike and a perm ban for 3rd. Would also be fortuitous to keep track (GM side) of the IP address's of these offenders, and those that are perm banned epically. If the same number comes up a few times, it would be good to then ban them by there IP or even the routers MAC. As this is an issue with ALL F2P games, where the trolls and the hackers can just infinitely make accounts if one gets banned so what, they can just keep going on with the others. This is where IP banning NEEDS TO BE ENFORCED and make it KNOWN to be enforced. Only then will you truly stop the trolling of games or the botting (botting to a limited extent) and it will cut it down significantly. Granted it won't stop ALL of it but it will stop a lot of it.

PGI obviously dont care about cheats. I've reported 'someone' for using aimbot and a friend supplied a video showing it. We were on his team and it came down to 2v2. We watched him sitting back using a aimbot. Even had time setup the recording for god sake. They got back to me with a load of B$ that they couldn't detect nothing. Or maybe they were being honest and don't have any means to haha.

People will always cheat and use loop holes, It's human nature but PGI ARE NOT WORKING ON THIS! THere probably more interested in charing you for another bobble head or even more so, Preparing for easter B$ that costs you real currency. Or more colors.... haha

Again, Because of PGI's chosen way of earning money, These things will get worse in my opinion. When they get low on 'christmas party funds' they will add whatever B$ they can to draw more people in. I wish they had made it a proper release instead of the Pay to 'progress faster' way. And pay for useless meaningless B$ haha. I wouldnt be suprised if they implemented this, BUt i would stop playing out of principle on that one. Each to there own

The AFK/bots and don't forget team killers too, if somebody starts hammering on my team mates, I leg them and leave them for the enemy team to mop up. More useful using them to absorb fire than damage the rest of the team.

max 2 mechs in a match at once, vote kick that gives no credits need for votes from your team to kick

makes sense.... 4 men grps.. 8 players... thats alot of power... and opens a door for even more trolling ^^
wnat to setup "you need 7 votes to get kicked" ?
what if you have 2 afks ? or 2 afk and 1 dc ?
you guys even think before your posting such stuff ?

fast edit.... : the only way... to stop it : CBILLS XP FOR PERFORMANCE !

Ah, the Appeal to Ancient Wisdom approach. Clearly we should forbid everyone newer than a month to post in the forums. Or whoever isn't a founder. Your call.

BTW, the OP joined on 07 Jan 2013, and has 4 post as of this moment, and yet he agrees with you.

And this is so absolutely correct.

So far, I haven't had more than one or two drops at most per match tops. Often none. And considering the amount of bugs and CTD that the game has, I'm ready to give them the benefit of doubt. I don't see why people are so bothered with that.

Not to rain on all the suggestions, but proper matchmaking will fix this when/if it goes live. I earn my horribly low K/D and W/L ratio the old-fashioned way: by being a crappy pilot who gets too excited and runs too far out.

When performance-based matchmaking goes live, I will be put up against similarly crappy pilots, and if they are all AFK farmers, I will win by being the only live pilot!

good players who are new... always staying ingame and watch other ppl playing.

Because they learn from it... well the others player do i see in every match.. they still die first with 20 damage done. Just as good they can choose after 1 minute the next mech.

Luckily there is no feature in the game that allows money transfer from one account to another, so that a ban really hurts the farmer because all the cbills are lost. As long as PGI get's no funny idea, money farming in this game can be contained and made unattractive.

It Is getting pretty bad.

Before It was 1 dc almost every match.. now It's 2 or 3+.

Actually I played a 4v7 the other day, being on the 4 team and we won. I was pretty pumped over this victory lol.

But seriously.. there must be more consequences! D:< This maybe speculation, but I believe that the dev's don't want to punish people right now so they don't lose players. Makes sense.

Yet theres more people joining every day on a day to day basis...... And every patch makes it easier. Open beta this game is not ready for, And they didnt need to do it either as they made enough from founders. Im still leaning towards PGI been a sister company of EA.... hahaha
