No thank you. It's a boring mech. With original art that is neither good nor interesting.

Also, it's not available in the time frame.

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Thunder_Hawk
We're already getting a Star League era mech in the Highlander.

The Thunderhawk brings nothing to the table except a more MinMaxxable style mech. It would result in 2 Gauss, 3-4 PPC undoubtedly.
Though I agree, looking forward to the Highlander, The 3 Gauss on a Standard Thunderhawk is more than enough Boating for the most jaded Munchkin! Just double sink it so it should never over heat and be the envy of the battlefield.

It'll either be the Mauler (ugh, please no) or the Cyclops simply because of the empty 90 ton slot. LET'S GO CLOPS!!!

The 90-ton slot isn't empty - the Highlander was announced as BattleMech 17 back in October. :)

55 Isn't getting filled even though there are 3 50s in or planned (Trebuchet next month), so what makes you think filling all tonnage slots is a huge concern for them?

It makes more sense to put mechs in for what roles they can play, exact tonnage slots is next to meaningless in actual gameplay. The neck beards that go to Battltech conferences, can live on soda and chips indefinately, and "have a girlfriend, but she's in Canada." might be concerned about it, but tonnage slots really don't matter.

Cyclops:
AC-20
LRM-10
SRM-4
2 MLasers

Yeah that should give us some variety in playstyles in the large Assualt mech region...Nothing like an Atlas in hardpoint types it seems...

The next mech announcement is most likely an Assault mech, if you look at the trend carefully, there is five per weight class and it is the most logical assumption.

So, again by logic, it may be a 95 ton class, and the only mech that fits the bill it is a Banshee.

But WHO WANT A BANSHEE? (Many of us, actually)

But it is also 3050.. from canon sources, another assault mech is making its debut in the Inner sphere battlefield.

"Quote from Sarna"

The Thunder Hawk was built by Norse-Storm BattleMechs during the final six years of the SLDF's drive to retake the Terran Hegemony. The Thunder Hawk epitomizes the doctrine of firepower over maneuverability with its heavy weapons arsenal and low top speed. Taken out of production after the end of the Amaris Civil War, Thunder Hawk production began again during the mid-3050s.[3][4]

It has 3 variants.

TDK-7X

TDK-7Y

TDK-7KMA - This needs the Arrow Artillery IV weapon, which it SHOULD have been out already with the MASC

So.. I want this mech, Period.

It has something so sweet that every one, I mean you got to be crazy not wanting it (because sanity is based off of my world view alone).

3X Gauss rifle. I only want the ballistic configuration.. personally I don't care about Gauss rifles.. to heavy.

So to the DEV.. I WANT THE THUNDERHAWK.

And I would also want to ditch the KING CRAB.. (despite it being the most requested mech AFTER the Highlander)

cool story bro. Fixed it for you tho.

also, "mid 3050s" ain't the same as "mid-3050".

That little "S" is an important distinction.

On the bright side, what YOU may consider a dissapointment, many of the rest of us are eagerly hoping/looking for.

King Crab
Posted Image
Mauler
Posted Image
Banshee-S
Posted Image
Cyclops
Posted Image
Zeus
Posted Image
Thug

Annihilator
Posted Image

are all highly more likely than the Thunderhawk.

And if you had to dig into mid 3050s designs, I think Many of us would look for the Cerebus, Albatross, Grand Titan, Pillager or Emperor first.

Also? The Thunderhawk looks stupid as heck.

Look if you all want to drive around in some panty waste mechs, that's on you. But I want the "Sammy Davis Jr" mech (he only had one eye) cause it awesome AND it wears a helmet for no reason. Now then, other than some stupid scary face or bad sunglasses, what can any other assault mech bring that is better than a helmet?

EXACTLY!!!

Yeah that should give us some variety in playstyles in the large Assualt mech region...Nothing like an Atlas in hardpoint types it seems...

"Dual Cockpit refits: The Cyclops is one of the Capellan Confederation's preferred 'Mechs to install Dual Cockpits. Standard refits usually install the Dual Cockpit on a CP-10-Z or CP-11-A, removing one ton of autocannon or gauss rifle ammunition, respectively."

Variant 1: CP-10-Z-DC (available since 2750)
equipped with x2 MLas (RA, LA), x1 AC/20 (RT), x1 LRM-10 (LT), x1 SRM-4 (CT), and a Command Console (HD)
Potential Hardpoint Layout:
LA: x1 Energy
LT: x2 Missile
CT: x2 Missile
HD: N/A
RT: x1 Ballistic
RA: x1 Energy

Variant 2: CP-11-A-DC (available since 3045)
Equipped with x2 MLas (RA, LA), x1 Gauss Rifle (RT), x1 LRM-10 (LT), x1 SRM-4 (CT), and a Command Console (HD)
Potential Hardpoint Layout:
LA: x2 Energy
LT: x1 Missile
CT: x1 Missile
HD: N/A
RT: x1 Ballistic
RA: x2 Energy

variant 3: CP-11-C (available since 3049)
Equipped with x2 MLas (RA, LA), x1 Gauss Rifle (RT), x1 SRM-4 (CT), and a C3 Master Unit (LT)
Potential Hardpoint Layout:
LA: x1 Energy
LT: N/A
CT: x2 Missile
HD: N/A
RT: x3 Ballistic
RA: x1 Energy

If "it makes more sense to put 'Mechs in for what roles they can play", then the Cyclops - with two variants carrying Command Consoles and one carrying a C3 Master Unit - would be (in the absence of the Marauder and BattleMaster) the quintessential command 'Mech.

'Twould be even more interesting if the Command Console were to receive its abilities under the advanced combat rules in Tactical Operations (such as a form of satellite uplink (which could allow for some form of advanced BattleGrid as well as the generation of an ECCM field, among other abilities; see the "Satellite Type Table" on pg. 195 of TacOps), access to remote sensors, and the ability to generate ghost targets).

Finally:
  • "General Ariana Winston, Commanding Officer of the Eridani Light Horse between 3045 to 3060, piloted a modified Cyclops which featured a dual-cockpit for command and coordination purposes."
  • "Captain William Cameron was Jaime Wolf's communications officer with Wolf's Dragoons, using a Cyclops to help coordinate the legendary mercenary unit. He was killed on Crossing during the Fourth Succession War."
If it's good enough for the CO of the Light Horse and the comms officer of the Dragoons' command lance, it's good enough for us, yes? :)

I want an assault mech that can carry at least 2 Gauss Rifles or 2 AC/20.
Maybe that makes me a powergamer, but that's what I want.

any mech build post 3025 IS AN ABOMINATION!

So then King Crab and Thunder Hawk are still good, cause the were originaly Star League builds and thus prior to 3025.
