So no single player campaign, no coop, no local multi, no 3015.

Unfortunately the op seems to have been expecting a new single player game like Mech 4 or Mech 3 and you know what? That was what I was expecting also... But when i saw the announcement for online, I had a FLOOD of amazing memories from MPBT 3025 and I was even more happy than you can imagine. I suspect if you had the chance to play that game, you would be drooling like a lot of us are right now.

I have said it before and I'll say it again, I have played every single mmo on the market in beta form one way or another and around the time 3025 was in beta i was at the top of my game in unreal tournament 99 and I have not had as much fun in another game as I had in that game. Most of it were the people I was playing with and I hope MWO can bring back half of that awesome back.

Couple points here here guys

While there is no singe player experience we don't know yet if there will be a PVE type leveling game...if there is many of the missions may be able to be completed solo......the bottom line is any smart developer won't slam the door on Money...errr I mean customers. I think we are too early to be shouting: "This is how it's gonna be and that spells doomzors"

My point is this..

They need to focus on multiplayer and that's pretty much the only thing that will make them money.

How good the multiplayer ends up being will determine how much money they make.

Good multiplayer = longevity of the game.

I'm sure there will be a story mode for single player but most don't care.

Those of you who want single player... go read one of the books.

I just don't get it. Alot of people here were expecting a single player game with online tacked on. I've been anticipating an online game period to form up with my friends as a lance and go destroy mechs. No SP, no PVE just pure destruction of the enemy in whatever shape or form they take.

I've only ever used the single player side of the MW games as a means to get comfortable with how they work. Whether or not I finished the campaign didn't matter, as soon as I was ready, online I went. Humans make for better challenges than any computer AI, and multiplayer is where your skills develop the fastest.

I agree with the original post. Not having single player campaign will also limit the market for potential players. So while die hard, "I-waited-a-decade" Mech fans will all play it (at least in the beginning), that probably won't be enough people to make the game very successful in the long run.
What's the point of artificially limiting the number of your potential customers? Do you guys want to be profitable or not? I'm not saying make the game "kid friendly" or whatever, but check the game market and see how many copies of single + multiplayer games sell vs multiplayer only, F2P or not.

while I am very disappointed that the original design of the 3015 campaign will not happen. And I am disappointed that there was some issue with the lost 21 mechs ....AGAIN (I stopped breathing for a sec when I saw the Warhammer in the trailer).

I am one of those that has been waiting for 10 years for MW to make a comeback. And to see and hear that they are trying to take it back a bit to the core game. I wait with anticipation to see what they do. I hope they get the 21 mechs in (maybe a project phoenix thing). I hope they handle the clans properly. I am hopeful that they can get everyone away from only having the biggest mech around with 1 set of weapons on it. Then there is the customization scale that they are talking about. I will wait and see and hope.

Well think of it this way. All you "SINGLE PLAYER ONLY!!!" folks already had like...what? 4-5 games that revolved around that?

Its our turn now :) Many of us have been waiting for an online persistent universe Battletech game for YEARS. Decades even.
