I took a look at it and all I can say is "wtf did they do to the Catapult?" That thing on the left side of the picture at the site is supposed to be a Catapult right?

Is this a separate game from MWO?

Yes.

I am a bit turned off by the booster packs. I just don't like the randomness of it all. Spent way too much on Magic and burned out by that model.

My biggest beef with Tactics is by far the artwork... WTF did they do to the 'mechs? O_O

those mech models look like total ****. I was looking forward to that founder package, I think I'll be staying away from it.

The more I consider it, i'd rather play Mechcommander.

Edit: although, this game being the new incarnation...now i'm torn, even though it does look ******.

I know hindsight is always 20/20, but they picked a bad time to launch. If there was no MWO and none on the horizon, I have no doubts that many players here would be trying out Tactics and perhaps buying a cheap Founder's pack to support the game. It looks like a free to mess around for a bit game at this stage for me. Buying Founder's and boosts for a turn based game like this, no thanks (IMO).

The funny thing is, a few months ago I made a few posts there, and mentioned a founder pack, and the fan boys were all "WAAH, we don't want the MWO kiddies coming here, ruining our tiny little world in a bubble"...well here we are.

Remember fanboys, money wins over your interests...always.

The newest video is from May of last year. They added three new screens this week, the first since August. And people deride PGI for lack of information.

What they did to the 'Mechs is make weapons actually show up on them instead of themed hard points. So if you slot in an AC/20 it actually mounts to your shoulder. If you throw on LRM's they are visible. If you have a bazillion lasers, well you get the point. It is actually pretty interesting.

The artwork is absolutely terrible. But I'm very curious about this game. I might get the $20 one so I can play it.

Bought an MWO founders pack and find that the game remains an underdeveloped pile of cack so not a huge amount of faith in IGP managing better success elsewhere.

the lack of a single player option in MT turns me off

that and as the above poster said i got burned here sinking alot of money into founders for a sub par game that won't be what they promised it would be for at least a year, probably two, so i can't see myself doing it again

i do love mechcommander though. stomps all over this game in terms of pure fun and in creating the feeling that mechs are giant war machines that destroy tanks and fortifications easily

Well you just told me some things. I was sitting here at work, considering the 120 level (i'm a glutton for punishment despite saying no earlier). So MWTis a multiplayer game only? No single player mode ala mechcommander?

Thanks for the info, I'm totally not interested now.
