I've only seen WoT TK's in 3-4 games twice because the special needs tankers drive into the line of fire of bigger tanks or you get the map cord spammer that ticks off the wrong person by spamming like a spastic nine year old.
i'm sure they have a plan in place to handle the obvious cases but operator error and general stupidity happen.
I actually had 2 games last night where TKers waited while everyone rushed and then sat back and took out all friendly arty before getting creamed by returning tanks.

1) the guy who is mad at the low tier tank whose high tier friend dragged him into the match in a platoon
2) clan members killing members of an enemy clan on their team in a public match
as for accidental TKs...
artillery who fire into close combat is the biggest issue

1. Dude fires shell/missile/laser
2. Weapon hits team mate
3. Shell does no damage, weapon reloads. Missile does no damage, weapon reloads. Laser does no damage, weapon charges. You are stuck with the heat and reload
4. ???
5. PROFIT! Nothing happens, but should some d-bag try to shoot an ally or you accidenlty hit someone...nothing happens but you are stuck with the annoying recharge and heat that occurs.
See, a winning system can developed that doesn't penalize you for some ***** that runs into your line of fire or someone else trying to make your game short.
As for TK in WoT, I dont do it except when someone annoys me. Had a dude bouncing around in his T-59 and I was trying to take my T-150 along side him, so we could double tap and kill the other guys around the corner. Except this annoying f-bag was playing it solo instead of trying to time our movement (which isn't hard), he moves forward every time his gun reloads always squeezing around me to the point we ground tracks 3 times. I put a round in his ***, because I got annoyed that he was on my left then move to the right (damn T-59 is fast) then back to my left moving around as if I was in his way instead of trying to find a working rythmn. I ended up getting tracked and almost killed because of him bumping into me as I tried to keep room.

6 guys get together to join a match. 5 of them join Team A, 1 of them Joins team B with a free 'throw-away' account.
The 6th man on Team B throws the match to ensure his buddies in Team A get a win. Maybe the 6th man puts a few friendly fire shots when the fighting starts. Not enough for a kill, just enough to weaken him. In the middle of a firefight, no one notices. 6th man certainly doesn't fire on anyone on team A. he just looks like a crappy player. After all, its a free account, he is must be a newbie right?
How is MWO going to stop it?
This happens in any game that has pesistent things you collect (XP, Gold, Items, whatever) in a PVP environment.

I totaly agree with ya. I have and will do so again on WOT blaster a friendly tank cause the owner was being a total dumb*&^... TKing is not a normal thing it does happen at times, mostly on perpuse...*sigh* But also sometimes by accident. I just hope the Banning or whatever system is put in place can make the judgement call of which TK happened

More simulation character = less stupid players = less teamkillers.
I sure hope the devs don't even consider making FF optional. A mech gets hit by a AC slug, it should get damaged, no matter who fired the slug. No FF is just for payers who want to spray away like at the arcade, it would be immersion breaking and a dealbreaker for me.

I am expecting randomly assigned opponent teams, so you wouldn't be able to stack the opposing team with freebie accounts for easy wins, nor sneak in a team killer to fight for you on the other side. you and your friends can queue, but no control over your opposition.

i may be a bit crazy to mention all this just seemed like the arty view should be mentioned because it sounds from the chat that arty makes a lot of stupid shots.. which is probably true. but it must be said that sometimes that round was in the air before you were there to be hit.

but iv also seen things that do area damadge have a higher tk rate because well (WoT as ex) the arty players focus on helping the players that are out guned usally when i tk its because my allie has been ramed and cant get away from the blast earea in addition they also usally only got 12% health so really they were boned either way.

Friendly Fire definetly should be active in any game that has any form of pvp combat

Lack of Friendly Fire just seems to bring about a poor tactical experience in which no one thinks about anyone else because they can't effect them anyway.
That being said, I know that FF will be on in MW:O due to previous Dev posts, so I'm not concerned. This game will rock.

Also idiots randomly turning their Ubertank into my little scout tank and destroying my side armour because I was driving in a straight line, then blaming me for driving a small tank. Not the fact that they didn't look before turning 'cause they were in a tiger.
Grr. so much wrong with gamers in WOT, I'm really hoping the players of MWO remembers why we're here, to kill the enemy not be a **** *** to allies.

Another option could be a reputation system. a person gets TK'd and people in the server could thumbs down their rep as Tker which could in theory make it possible to screen TKers out maybe?

We may be seeing a lot of this early on with all the people learning etc, but from what I've seen so far it would be difficult to "accidently" aim you LRM 20's at someone and hit them.

Don't forget that you may not have a choice as to who your teammates are depending on the game mode. I've never been an advocate of turning Friendly Fire off, but I've been on the receiving end of some douchebag joining my team and TK'ing me and teammates for the thrill of it completely ruining the game. For the opposite team they would laugh and sometimes stand up for you, but in the end a win is a win in most peoples eyes and therefor you have no way to defend yourself from it.
But as long as they give you the option of joining some random game, or fighting team games only, or whatever then I think this becomes a moot point.
I again ask, let the Devs make the game as they forsee it and tweak it from there. IF you keep making demands, you are just setting yourself up for heart break. There is always two sides to the coin.
