I finally went and researched the Cataphract, and it made me giddy. A 70-ton, not-completely-plodding brawler with jump jets? Oh yes.

Now if I can strap some PPCs on...

With it still being early 3049, the Clans haven't arrived yet. Clan mechs aren't available yet. . . However, time marches ever on. I can't imagine it would be too terrible long before we see the new technology. . . .

Man! I am so excited. I am planing on getting a veteran founder package, and start my career asap as light mech jockey for the great House of Liao! Having played back in the days the good ol´ tabletop, I piloted exclusively light mechs and intend on doing so in this franchise. And since there is no other House then Liao, may its people bask in Capella´s glory, I am thrilled to see that I will be able to ride Liao´s finest Mech(atleast in my oppinion). Without further ado and my trembling fingers typing these lines, I give you, with great pleasure and and with excitement fidgeting Hands my choice...

I think you'll want to be looking at the same ride I am: a CTF-3L Cataphract. ER PPC, 4 Medium Pulse lasers, and a MASC system to let it sprint up to 86mph - all with enough heat sinks to keep it running VERY cool. Just doesn't feel right going less than 80kph in something that isn't an assault or dedicated missile boat, IMO. If the design allows, you might even be able to look at swapping the pulse lasers for standard/ER tech and slapping on some jump jets.

If not, and I can't crank up the speed on the 3D (which is what it looks like the revealed variant is), I might look into a pretty heavily modified Centurion or Grand Dragon.

I'll definitely have a raven for all my light mech needs, too.

And I'd KILL for a Pillager as my go-to assault mech. With a little work in the mechlab even the 1N can be a beast that can stand toe to toe with almost anything - including a lot of clan assaults: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Pillager

The Cataphract will be fine on the till announced Mechs, or the Catapult, I like that much, too.
A nice redesigned Shadow Hawk, even with Light Gauss and LRM 15, ER Med and SRM Streak. All that would be fine.
Or the one 5m, UAC5,LRM20,SRM2,ML, so less Ammo for that LRM, but who cares. If they hit.
Even if the Phoenix Hawk was the first, i prefered the Shadow Hawk most.

A classic Warhammer design would be fine, too. Crusader, Dervish i a newer Version would be fine, too.

I played so much in the last years, it's difficult to decide. A Hatchetman, with nice Hatchet, animation and design to use. A Hatchetman would top it all.

It's got an endosteel frame, it's just as fast as the mad dog, has a similar loadout as the primary configuration, and even packs some jump jets. And if you wanted to replace the Jump Jets and NARC launcher, that's another spare 7.5 tons to work with. That's enough to upgrade one of your lasers to a large/ER large, add in two more tons of LRM ammo, a double heat sink, and half a ton of armor. It's not clan tech, but that is not bad at all.

uhm... I realise that I might be really late in replying, but anyways, maybe somebody will comment nonetheless.

As I would like to join the Liao faction (I still don't know how though...), I like to pilot following mechs:

Light: Raven and Heavy: Catapult, both of them currently playable on Mechwarrior Online.

Next are the mechs I reaaaaaaally would love to pilot. For one, because they have never been
featured in the previous Mechwarrior PC games. And secondly, each and every one of them
has a cool design.

Medium: Wraith (I am not sure about the Wraith. It is not really a Capellan design, is it?
Rather it has been imported... or am I mistaken?)

Assault: Pillager (St. Ives), Yu Huang, maybe Emperor (St. Ives) and also the Tai-sho
(I know, it is a Draconis Combine mech, but the mech just looks so cool... )

Unfortunately, we will have to wait for the Wraith, Pillager, Yu Huang, Emperor and Tai-sho
for a loooooong time if at all. Even if the developers decided that we don't have to wait 12
to 14 years, I doubt that they will ever include any of said mechs... maybe the Wraith but all
the others... doubtful.

What are your thoughts?
