Do you automatically get the 2X basic upgrades after you unlock master on a chassis or do you have to purchase them again after buying the extra module slot?

You get the X2 on basic pilot proficiencies as soon as Basic profiencies in 3 variants of the same mech are achieved.

There are no further multipliers after that.

Note the completion of Basic in 3 variants is also a prerequisite to advance and gain the Elite and Master profiencies of a mech type.
