Still can't quite figure it out. If you are killed and quit, do you get XP?

Yes.

If you die and then choose to leave the match after you have died you get full experience from the match.

If you leave before you die you get experience up to when you left.

You don't get match bonus credits as far as I can tell.

You do. Dying and quitting early is exactly the same as dying and watching the rest of the match. There is no reason to stick around, except to learn/see the outcome/see your stats.

If you die, and leave the game, you get points for the win ( or lose )
If you leave the game (alt+f4, or w/e) whilst alive you only get points up to the time where you disconnected. (will not be awarded for wins, or further assists)

Give me a minute and I'll find the direct quote from garth or paul

Found it. It was from Bryan lol.

Quote

We are addressing several known issues with farming.

Trial Mech Locking
  • Trial Mechs will now work the same as any BattleMech, they are locked until the match ends. This ends the ability for a macro player to "churn" matches to maximize CB.
Quitting/Disconnecting Early - While Still Alive
  • You will only receive rewards up to the point of disconnection.
  • NOTE: If you are dead, you will receive earned rewards, plus match rewards.
Idle/AFK
  • Players that fail to provide any input will be kicked from a match Although it does not prevent a macro player from simply putting in inputs, it forces them to LOOK like a bot.
Abusing this system is considered a violation of the TOS/COC.

yeah and coz there are ways to disconnect without the server showing you as "disconnected" you still get all rewards till the very end of the match.

you know the guys that sit in their trial mechs looking AFK but are NOT disconnected ?? those are the cbill/xp farmers.... there are still ways to circumvent the measure the devs put in - because it relies on the DISCONNECT-message

edit: cheapest way for this is to let your macro close the client via taskmanager, other "workarounds" include deactivating/reactivating your network card, send string to router to get new ip.... this system is still flawed.

I think I see The Problem. You are quitting, seeeing your mech come out of the Match and your C-bill/xp not updating. It does you just have to refresh you home screen by logging out or going into another match. You got your reward you just can't see it.

And there is still the problem of players quitting just before they die... They will need to fix that for final matchmaking phase or ppl just gonna cheat to inflate their stats

Yes, but as per the topic: "Once and for all.... quitting after death," he's just not sure if he has to wait until the scoreboard appears to get the match rewards. :D

people that do this are colossally stupid. if they're getting killed in pugs, imagine how much harder it's going to be on them with their falsely inflated elo rating fighting multiple people that are actually good. /facepalm

THIS, you do get the match rewards, and the bonuses up to the point you left, what you dont get are kill assist, damage assists or anything else the other players do after you die. So if you hit all 8 enemy mechs say, and die, then quit, you will not get the assist bonus for their deaths if the rest of your team kills them all.

True. But the people that d/c after a kill are doing it so that they can go back and load up another mech. What you'd get from the ancillary results from that match sort of pail in comparison to what you might get from another full match. As you can load up as many mechs as you'd like, the only way to really stop this is to have all mechs (trial and owned) locked while you've got something in an ongoing game. Of course, that won't stop the bots or afkers randomly pushing a button to prevent forced d/c. But then again, there will always be people that would rather screw your fun and advancement that actually work it out.
