Where's the love for Mechcommander?

Considering the format of MWO, I can easily see MC being just as great an influence on MWO as the MW games.
So, any vets of MC around here? Anyone remember Rooster from the first MC?
"This is Rooster!"
"Like hittin' tin cans on a fence!"
"My armor's meltin' off!"
**This may need to go somewhere else, so feel free to move it.

It is not very close to the Mechcommander (rather the TT itself), but it's still better than nothing.
Check it out if you want.

Arm yourself with knowledge. Fun game. Should dig up my disc and play it again sometime.
Speaking of MechCommander: I finally got around to trying BattleTech: The Crescent Hawks' Revenge, running through DOSBox. This game -must- have influenced MechCommander, when it rolled around. It's like... a melding of the TT and MechCommander. Bit on the clunky side, but what do you expect from one of the first RTS games ever?
PS: It's also damn difficult. Definitely worth slogging through, though. Not enough BattleTech/MechWarrior games out there to skip one.

I actually never played any of the MC games - never had money at the times they were popular.
I think I got to try the first one, don't recall.
