They said flat out when ECM was launched that they would not be changing it for a while. Why would you expect any additional responses?

Wait, so something that is horribly broken in terms of balance was implemented and just because the Developers said they weren't changing it for a while before any testing was done, you think that is perfectly okay? For a developer to say that is asinine and it shows just how little experience they have in game balance. A developer should never say that they won't be changing something new they implemented, especially when it has problems.

I saw the title: I know where the DEVs hide...

And i expected: Under a rock! (head in the sand, etc, something like that)

But really, to the PGI fanboys saying 'they've answered all our questions' etc, 3 letters: ECM. They won't even acknowledge it's a concern and have even said 'There are no major complaints at all.' Lol...

Go listen to the latest No Guts No Galaxy Podcast with Garth and you hear him say they do agree the ECM should be tweaked. However, the use of ECM has been rapidly evolving as the weeks progress at the competitive level and has actually been trending down.

If the Devs have stopped posting on here because of all the complaints and trolls, or whatever reason people believe... Why don't they just make "Announcements" regarding the patches and stuff, you know, closed threads where they can tell us what's going on behind the scenes... They wouldn't have to put up with all the ******** that way.

Really, all anybody wants is to know what's going on and why.
The fact that all the people TESTING this game are being ignored is infuriating... it's no wonder people ***** and moan all the time.

(Don't take this as me bitching and moaning. I'm perfectly happy to just ride this out and see where the game goes. Patience is a virtue after all. My fingers are crossed that the Devs don't **** things up though.)

They do exactly that over at the command chair. In fact they updated 3 topics in the last 2 days.

That said, I wish Bryan Ekman would update the feature and content roadmaps before the week ends because it's out of date in places.

No. They release a new feature that they know is going to turn the game upside down. But you have to wait a little bit for the community to figure it out and for things to settle down. Then you can better understand how to move forward in terms of rebalancing.

This is basically how things work with a lot of more complicated games like RTS genre. Developers release something or completely change a unit and suddenly the whole game seems to be flipped on its head. It takes weeks for people to get used to it and find counters. What was once "impossibley OP" becomes nothing special after a while.

PPC heat generation is a good example for why you can't rush balance. 2 months ago everyone was certain that PPC's high heat needed to be addressed. Everything was in the works to make sure this made sense. Suddenly, these new PPC heavy builds started showing up and have been absolutely demolishing. The game is evolving and you now have to go to the drawing board and reconsider whether reducing the heat on PPC is really going to make the game better or worse.

Bottom line, you could've eddited out the practicle example part of my post, there is little need for it in quote and it takes a lot of space.

Sorry, I was on my phone. B)
