Last night, I was in a four-man group on a TS channel and we successfully sync dropped with another two-man group onto the same team on the same map. Between us we had 4 Awesomes and 2 Hunchbacks. The opposing team's assaults ended up being 3 Atlas and an Awesome, but we won comfortably. Before the game ended, a player on the opposing team chatted whining about how it was unfair to be dropped against multiple Awesomes.

Proof that someone will always find something to whine about.

No wonder they were mad. They had 3 better assaults and still lost.

My butt itches and it's not my fault! It's not fair that everyone else's butt doesn't itch and mine does! Not fair!

The Atlas isn't "better" it just has a different role to play. A good Awesome pilot is not going to be scared of an Atlas.

They should have been complaining about sync drops. Keep on stomping.

I agree with your statement about whiners on the interwebz. But **** you for sync dropping. Please stop ruining the game so you can stroke your internet ego.

They really need to do weight balancing, not just class balancing though.

For that they need more mechs I'm sure.

Give us more mechs!

Weight balancing is suppose to be coming according to Paul (where the total weights of the teams are balanced). Whether or not this will be in the next Matchmaking phase to be implemented Tuesday, I am not sure.

I am not whining about whiners, but I am pointing out that 99% of this community could agree that the game is balanced (at some point in the future), and 1% would still find something to complain about, and probably spam the forums about it. This place is all too often a dumping grounds.

I'm aware of that, however, what you are describing is not the same as their "scrambles" and what not, which co-incidentally, the other day I was asked to participate and declined, one reason being this very issue.

I'm not comfortable with it, as there is no certainty that they will not be matched up against 8 other people (or any mix of randoms/TS) that cannot communicate with each other in combat because PGI hasn't the foresight to implement ingame VOIP for a multiplayer game in... what is it now, 2013?

This is a side issue, because what you are describing in the opening post is not any sort of "scramble" or harmless "mix", you are out and out sync dropping against 8 others who may or may not be able to communicate in combat, and in all likelyhood have a smattering of ****** trial mechs that shutdown after 1 alpha.

I.E. subverting the rules of the 4man queue.

in my personal opinion sync dropping is one of the worst forms of douchebaggery whatever form of rationalizeation you use.

I understand the desire to play with friends, but i somehow doubt this is a case of irl friends wanting to play together, more likly this is a case of there being 6 unit mates online at the same time and they wanted to play together for the advantage it provides.

So he complained about the wrong thing?

Devs have already noted they do not approve of 4 + 4 syncs and would prefer they not be done. Nothing has been implemented to prevent, but I'd bet those days are numbered.

An 8 man versus 8 disorganized pugs is worthy of whining, IMHO.

Edit: derp, not an 8, a 6, but point stands.

of course you won comfortably. You sync dropped 6 people into a match against what was likely a bunch of non voice comm'd pubbies. What did you expect to happen? It may not be an officially stated exploit, but it is a subversion of the 4 man limit mechanic. Not to mention one of the highest forms of douchebaggery available.
If you want to play with each other so badly, grow some nuts@ck and get 2 more for 8v8.

*edit:why do I feel like i just got trolled?*

My group either does 8 man, or if we don't have enough online, we split into groups and do NOT sync drop. That is weak sauce...

Nope, not unit mates. I am not part of any group/clan.

How do you know that on the opposing team none of them were organized in any fashion?

I like how I'm being blamed for problems PGI created by not offering real in-game voice, a sandbox/training level, a lobby, ability to group 2-8, identification of groups in-game, and private/custom matches. The fact that pugs exist in the state they do is not my problem.

Maybe not, but you are obviously taking advantage of the situation. You could just as easily ran two 3 man groups and not tried to sync drop, but you are looking for the easy win. There is no other reason to sync drop. It's something weak players do.
