Hi folks,

I'd like to introduce my 1/60 scale (Armorcast height) MW4 highlander. This mech is a big step up in design for me. The paper craft plans were rescaled, then translated into Adobe Illustrator and details added, the file was then sent for laser cutting. Then I had to wait for the parts to arrive and wait and wait I did...

I sorted the shapes using a 1:1 scale diagram and group them into substructures. I then started to assemble the shapes into parts filling the internal voids with putty and plaster to make them withstand vacuum moulding. (see previous sneak peak blog entry)

What you see here is 95% finished bar a few items left on the snagging list. Its not glued so not to damage the masters till I've taken moulds so it's just balancing together in the pictures (pretty impressive for such a tall and heavy model).

For comparison I took a photo next to the Armorcast atlas. As you can see bang on scale., (GET IN! My powers of maths didn't fail me)

Q: I WANT ONE !
A: You can have one!

That is some pretty good work. Excellent modelling and that is a good looking paint job on that Armorcast Atlas.

Wow,
Those look very nice!! The time you put into those really shows. I was looking all over for the older
Armorcraft kits and they are impossible to find anywhere lol. I came across a modeling site that stated
a few other companies that did the mech type models "Macross Destroid Kits" + "Horizon Models" are still
popping up once and awhile, but i seen only a few of those as well, and not really type/style of mech i liked.

Im going to keep my fingers crossed and hopefully get my hands on an Armorcraft kit hopefully at some point in time but if not i may be interested in your repro.. That Atlas looks like he wants blood lmao.. Great Work!!

So, would you be willing to produce and sell more models similar to this? I read that you weren't looking to do any more beyond the initial 5, and I was thinking how nice it would be to get my boyfriend (or myself) a nice resin model like this.

I was limited to offering 5 because it covered the cost of moulds plus I'm about to move house I didn't want to be overloaded with orders.

Once I'm set up at the new house (probably late July) I'm happy to cast the odd 1 or 2 until moulds wear out. I'm also looking forward to starting my next project.

Very nice lyonn! I like the paint job too. Very nice lense effect, and I like how you paint the cockpoit reflection on the armor. Keep it up!

Thanks for all the compliments I really appreciated them. When things go pair shaped I think back to praise I received and helps me to stay motivated ;)

When I get my hands on some money, the cash I throw at you will hopefully keep you motivated too. Keep posting your latest projects here- I'll definitely order once I see a chassis that I or my boyfriend absolutely need.

I wonder if Havoc's seen this...

Also, will you plan on making designs based on the new MWO designs?
