This is my idea for a long range sniper and spotter.

Obviously this would work best in a coordinated pre-made, ideally with LRM boats.
It is not the fastest, doesn't jump the highest and has very flimsy armor.
But the idea is... you are still fast enough and have enough jumping power, combined with ECM, that you sneak behind enemy lines and find a perch as high up and out of reach from the enemy as possible.
Then you get a good line of sight and call in the artillery.
At first, don't even fire a shot. You do NOT want them knowing you are there.
But once the battle has been joined and the enemy is occupied, start helping out with long range sniper fire from the ERPPC.
I thought about saving a couple tons and using an ERLLAS, but the second long bright blue beam gives your position away more easily and it's much harder to get the full damage potential in one section at such long range. The ERPPC doesn't give your position away as easily, has longer range, and stacks all the damage on one section if you hit.
Clearly other lights with ECM and SSRMs are your bane (as with all Spiders), which is why you do NOT join the melee. Do not get their attention, but if you do... use your speed and jump jets to get somewhere out of range of those streaks.
Ideally you should know the maps very well and have already chosen a good hiding spot like this in the beginning.
P.S.- I know I have BAP in there, and presently it's mostly useless... but it's there for theme and build completeness. If you take it out, you can fit in more armor, JJs, etc.
Hopefully someday BAP gets a buff!
