When I scout I usually sneak behind the enemy and target them for my LRM boats if I'm lucky enough to have any. Spot XP plus assist XP.
For some reason currently you dont get the bonus for assists with TAG... bug probably becasue you used to, so just shoot everyone.

Nothing helps with the XP thing. In assault mode you are tied to a team that likely hates capping (You get 75 base plus 50 for the assist) and you are tied to their fate.
In Conquest, no bonus XP for capping. However, Conquest tends to offer more opportunity to find single opponents.
Getting to Master on the Spider will be painful, and need Double XP weekend.

XL255, Endo, DBL HS, 2 MPLs, and add armor where needed. Sure, some matches I do less than 100 damage (most, actually). Others I can hit upwards of 250 (This generally happens when I have a competent PuG team, since I mostly PuG). However, it also helps to have a wingman to not only take damage, but to aid in your quest of, "the grind." Ask your wingman to allow you to get that sneaky kill, or perhaps ask the team if they're alright with you at least getting shots in for assists. I've found, particularly, conquest is the best mode for the Spider 'Mech, overall, due to the speed and jumping capability to allow quick access to unmanned cap points.
In 2 nights (5 hours total) I have all but anchor turn and arm speed basics taken care of. I felt they weren't of the utmost necessity for the time being.
Remember, those pesky ECM lights are looking for you, so if you spot one, just run.
Oh, and if you do end up going crit and know you will die - Jump in the air as high as you can so everyone has a quick fireworks show.

thats what iv been doing but its like every raven on the enemy team fights over which one gets to kill me first lol even if im hiding behind 3 atlas its like GET THE SPIDER EVERYONE!!!!. i end up only hitting few mechs before i have the whole enemy team chasing me around my own team. lol ohwell halfway done with the basics atleast.
the only problem with trying to run is that 99% of ravens are already Elited and trying to run is just pointless XD

That's where your jump jets come into play.
If you know what terrain you're on, jumping onto buildings/mountains brings up a new plane. Is it difficult? Yeah, but with a little practice, you can actually run from those ravens and commandos. It is what it is, but it'll allow you to play smarter if you do so.
I'm still experimenting with the Spider, but it seems the current loadout I'm running seems most efficient. It can take a few hits, and dish out a bit of damage. If you manage to catch a laser/missle boat off guard, you can leg them pretty quick. I did the math earlier on an afk, and it was 8 alphas per leg on a stalker with the mpls. I'm totally unclear of the armor loadout, as it can be maxed to 72 per leg, but at least you know you CAN harrass enemies in this way.
*edit for spelling

And that is why everyone is complaining about ECM ravens, Commando's.. It wouldn't matter if you were an atlas having the enemy scouts trained on you, you're gonna lose. Best to stay out of combat until the fight starts and people get target focused, then swoop in

Keep an eye on your signal indicator. See ECM, bug out of there, there is no way for a non-ECM light to win against the Carrion and Trollmandos.

Not really in comparison to other mechs right now, BUT
I imagine when we get some new maps that are built for jump jetting mechs it will be fantastic!

It's very fun to pilot. Most fun I've had since I started playing back in November.... Well, that sounds kinda wrong. The game is a lot of fun overall, but jumping from rooftop to rooftop like a super hero is exciting. Also, the whole running head-on towards an enemy assault and jumping over it's head while shooting the cockpit, doing a 180 in the air, peg another alpha into their back, do another 180 (to complete a 360) and continue running.... Fun.
Earlier tonight, with 12JJs, I tried to jump over the tunnel on the frozen city maps. Needless to say, there are no textures up there, but there is an invisible wall. I've been jumping to anywhere I can get to. Keep in mind I only do this when my team is steamrolling the opposition, which means I'm not useful in the match anyways (I get my assists and that's about it, lol).

Launch spider#1 into game, disconnect, Launch spider#2 into game, disconnect, Launch spider#3 into game, disconnect....
Launch your favorite mech into a game and play it, by the time you are out the spiders are out, too and the cbills and XP are incoming.
But, PLEASE, don´t do this - it kills your teams fun and enuff people are already doing it while griefing others.
Until this mechanic get´s a fix I´m pretty busy writng reporting mails each and every day
(if you think this does not work watch a disconnecters score at the end - they are awarded XP/CB!)
