Still won't help if you get stuck with 7 horribad pugs every game and lose the match, maybe if they made it based off personal performance it would work, but still difficult considering the amount of teamwork needed.

It will be based off of personal performance. Everyone will start at the same rating. Some will go up. Some will go down. Some will stay in the same general area. I'm pretty sure I'll be leaving the '3 damage done' crowd behind fairly quickly.

Look at it this way: MWO is currently using two "queues" only. One "queue" is the solo players and up-to-four groups. The other "queue" is the full 8 player groups. This is not how the end game is envisioned. The "queues" themselves aren't even fully functional, they just dump people into matches every 30 seconds and drop everyone who won't fit.
The end game is envisioned to have a number of battle planets at any given time, splitting the already-smaller-than-hoped player base from TWO "queues" based ONLY ON TEAM SIZE, into umpteen planets. These planets might even continue to segregate full teams from small teams. In other words, we go from two queues (one of which is usually empty) to 40+.
Making ELO for the game as it is now is literally a wasted effort, unless the system easily ports over to a constantly-shifty series of battle planets with even more shifting player concentrations and skill levels.

When? Try following this thread: http://mwomercs.com/...mber-18th-2012/
On top of that keep in mind that they don't have a patch listed at all for the 29th, so the 22nd would most likely be the day it's implemented.

or (and this is a pipe dream of my very own) give us a lobby where we can chat to team before game start *sigh*

Been thinking about it a bit and they could use the current stats to group people into rough starting elos, that would prevent older members from getting stuck in an "ELO hell" sort of situation... ugh... that would be a literal hell for a game like this.

I really doubt there was a 4-man group involved in that match. If any of my pugs could have hit the broad side of a barn, the outcome might have been quite different.

I'm not worried about Elo hell. Had Elo been in place already, I wouldn't be matched with the likes of my 'teammates' my next drop. Not only would I have gone up in rank, but they would have fallen in rank, making the gap wider. Besides which, the current stat you're thinking of is KDR, am I right? It's meaningless. I wonder if they're tracking individual hit percentages and just not telling us about it. Now that's a stat that could be useful.

I saw a thread regarding making a script to log that data + accuracy and damage per weapon on your mech. Wonder what happened to that thread.... might have see if that thread updated at all. I agree with the KDR being meaningless, especially considering the concept of last hitting for a "kill" and assists counting as kill no matter how much damage you dealt. Win/loss might be a bit more determinate. There have been matches where I do 1k+ damage and the rest of my team had sub 300 yet we still won. Bottom line, ELO please.

.... Or in my case, unload a world of hurt first on an Awesome then on a Stalker and in both cases have that 'friendly' Centurion step RIGHT in front of you and block the target for the finishing shot...
