My ping went from 130-135 down to 118-125ms. Could have been just last night, I'll check it out more this weekend.

I actually gave up playing last night due to issues with lag and high ping - ping has also increased for me by around 30-50 ms.

Monday to Wednesday the game has slowly got harder to play due to randomness of weapon fire and where enemy mechs hit boxes are.

I had to lag shoot a 50 MPH atlas by a significant ammount last night and even then had low damage shown at end of every match.

Monday night was averaging around 500-600 damage last night had several games (same mech and load out) where I registered under 90 damage which means in 5 mins of major brawling the damage from one alpha registered the rest where lost. Changed over to a shot gun build in my atlas 2 LBX 10 3 SRM6's and even then was only managing low 100's

Had a major impact on my enjoyment of the game as I also seemed to get rubber banded a load and kept getting stuck on non existant objects - stuck in middle of water on g line in river city with no mechs around me then cored by tag using LRM's

Will log on tonight and if its the same give up playing till the at least get it back to pre this week's bad net code level as apposed to the completly random 1-5 second delay in firing rubbish

I generally have a ping of 113 and will rarely jump during a match. Warping though is rare and I find the lag shooting to be off and on depending on the ping of the other player. The patches haven't reduced or increased my regular ping though since closed beta started going into open beta.

Not just more lag, Purple, fluctuating lag! Mine also went from 50-60ms to 160-190ms, however it began last week and is specific to MWO. It is also inconsistent - one shot will land dead on, the following does not, the next two will, the next one doesnt. Makes the game unplayable once again for me.

Same thing. Was running about 35 to 50 pre-patch. Now running 120 to 150 post patch. And I'm only 5 hours from Toronto which according to pingtest.net is running about 160. However if I ping a server 3000 miles away in LA, it's 55. Something tells me Canada broke their interwebz.

Can affirm this happening, it's quite bad, can go up to 800 randomly sometimes.

So it's either I:

> DC a lot and have no lag

or

> Don't DC and lag

I can't win either way, lol. GG.

European players may get some relief in the next patch, we got to the root of some additional internal latency the CryNetwork layer was adding which should effectively reduce your round trip time, so we'll be interested to hear your experiences after the next patch.

Hopefully this should improve people's ping. Mine hasn't changed from around the 125-140 mark. Interesting to see what it will be like next patch.

Alter.net is Verizon's backbone. Also just so you know, that's not the incremental ping, it pings them separately.

Yes, I know. That's pretty much how all traceroutes work. But it's almost irrelevant right because in order to reach those other nodes it has to go through the previous devices... so it's always going to accumulate. I don't think I've seen a ping which actually stacks the ping times on top of each other but they always increase as they go. My point was that everything in the path up until that point was fine. So it sounds like it's a problem between two parts of their backbone? Between a 10Gig pipe and some kind of gateway.

Verizon FIOS NY 15/5 connection for me. Ping used to be 30-50 and is now 110-130. I didn't play much right before the patch so I'm not sure if that was it but I haven't had any problems with my connection or any other games.

I've had games where I've had no trouble hitting super fast lights and then the next game I can't hit a medium going 100kph.

My ping used to be 45-60 and is now usually in the 70-90 range.

East Coast US, my ping has jumped from 70 to about 180 since last patch.

So it's not just the international players suffering here.

Same here. FiOS in NY, ping went from 30ms to 150-190ms with lag.

The problem is FiOS is having issues with tinet.net. This is not MWO's fault, however they should and hopefully already have looked to adding more providers for their bandwidth.

My ping, as well as that of many of my clan, have roughly doubled. We are all also experiecning terrible lag with teleporting/rubberbanding etc. And lights are now even more difficult to hit. :)
