Kinda kills my free time.

First off, congrats ;)

That said, I'm not playing as much as I used to, but that's only because my wife sorta complained about the many hours spent playing MWO, expecially at late night. Since she wasn't entirely wrong, I was happy to reduce the time spent playing.

I still play 2+ hours a day, on a average. Unhappy with some things, btw I still like the gane and I'm enjoying it.

To those that find themselves playing less and less? Why do you think you are playing less then say a month or more ago?

I have a few reasons.

1) 'Seen it all before' -- as I played in the open beta (I view what we have now as release) and given that there was not much content to begin with, I am starting to bore of what we have.

2) Maps are too small and no matter the game mode, matches often play the same way. Unlike MWLL, whose maps are huge and whose rounds last upwards of an hour, MWO fails to be a proper tactical shooter with its 15 mins of rush the enemy and hope for the best; game and map design encourages play like this rather than players just being poor.

3) I don't like IGP and PGI and the way they do business. Don't get me wrong, I'll be logging on for matches etc. Just I won't be parting with any money and will stick with playing this game for free (and winning too).

4) Final reason my play has dropped off is because I have gone back to MWLL for a bit to test out their new patch and perhaps to help people with the planetary conquest and campaign-esque leagues system etc. I am Hoping there will be some kind of web interface developed.

Well, got used to the bugs. They are annoying, but not the reason I play less.

MWO just gets boring quite fast as there is no much diversity and not much to do besides grinding match after match on maps I have played over and over.

I always get back to MWO for a day or 2, then rapidly lose interest as it is same old, same old... then take a break for some time and play other team oriented games, that involve strategic decicions more and have a better long time motivation.

Basically not much going on at MWO since the implementation of ECM in sense of "this is feeling new".

Don't get me wrong, it is not a bad game, it just is too bare bones to give me any long time joy.
I just feel with all the netcode problems and sound issues the general game progress is too slow and too little to enjoy, yet...

I think I will give MWLL a chance, it looks quite fun and play MWO more, when it has some content and bigger maps...

Very thin trickle of content, it's hard not to get burned out on a handful of maps, a handful of viable mechs and 1.5 modes.

Balance issues (Catapult torso twist, OP missiles countered by OP ECM) so long-standing it appears they'll never be fixed.

Netcode, netcode, netcode with a possible fix only "going into testing within several weeks", and netcode.

I was also thinking about how the maps are too linear, and too small.

If the 4 maps we have were larger, and had more avenues in which to setup attack strategies, it might be better...but
in the end it just comes down to lack of maps.

no PGI reply to this thrad what so ever just underline every fact said here.

"Joe LUCK" PGI??? ....

Just joined this game few days ago, was very excited about it, but I'm loosing my hope that it will ever be finished. It seems more like money grabber and the lack of info from dev just admiting the fact that there is something wrong with it .... been playin MW, MW2 and 3 ages ago. Also supported Forgotten Hope 2 mod (mod of the year award) many times, but this is absurd.......

feel very sorry as it has great potential, but seems more like dying from my perspective.

I recently helped out with the "trial by fire" tournament and that was a good event last weekend. I suggest more people try stuff like that.

Its the grind. Its doing game after game after game and then checking my progress, and seeing that nope, I'm 1/20th of the way to being able to afford the build I have in mind (that is, being able to buy the mech, the engine, etc).

Just one thing:

Lagshield/Netcode/Warping Light Mechs/Whatsoever

Thats what taking the fun out of the game right now.
The only "light at the end of the tunnel" is, that there will be so many bad light pilots out there which will be AC20´d, Laser´d and what not, when everything about "hitting" is back to normal... *sigh*

I'm playing less because I've found other games that catch my interest at this moment. TERA going free to play, Planetside 2 soon getting a new update, League of Legends, Warframe closed beta, (founded because it's awesome <3) not to mention using my time to draw more digital artworks. :3

But I do play MWO when I feel like getting some mecha action in my guts. Still enjoy it whenever I jump on! ^o^

I played a bit this weekend, but I can't say I played really more than usual. I did use the opportunity to get the Basic Efficiencies on the Cataphract 1X, which I also bought with remaining MC. I would have not gone through the trouble for a long while otherwise.

Same games I've played lol. Warframe got too repititive, I just stopped playing. It was cool for the first 20 hours though. I despise Planetside 2, the games structure just encourages bad gameplay. I havent played Tera, but my friend that I played SWTOR with said its bad, and SWTOR wasn't too good either.

League of Legends got kind of boring and as of now I'm playing MWO. To be honest, MWO will be my go-to free to play game as soon as they add lots of maps and new modes, etc. As of now, there's not enough content and ill probably play less often soon. The only bad part is all but 1 of my friends have pretty bad computers so idk if they can run MWO.

What this game needs are double CBill events, sales, and new content.

1) ECM made the game flat out unfun
2) More bugs than closed beta. I never got the 4 FPS bug, flickering yellow HUD ect, now I get it every hour or so when I do decide to play
3) No collision, the collision we had was better than nothing
4) lagshield light mechs, also worse than they were in closed beta.

The game has gotten worse in quality since it left closed beta, and thats just sad.

it had no effect on my play style. Why play something that is not fun for extra RP in the game that lacks fun? :(

Honestly... I mostly play in pre-mades when i plan on playing a bit. I have to restart my client every 8 games or so.. so i say alot in teamspeak .. "ill BRB .. gotta restart , RDY for Reinvite*..
(not to mention theres a %10 chance that on the 1st match afer restart the game will freeze black screen after the match and ill have to cnt alt delete / task manager to shut down the client *not responding* then agian.. *rdy for reinvite*.. this really tires me out :(.. )

perhaps ima lil lazy ? IDK.

Agree, I bought a Flame today and I've been in like 3 matches where my radar didnt work at all. Weird glitches. And the mechs have been transparent on a few occasions also.

Somehow, after the last patch, I am getting not only increased rubberbanding and warping but also server connection drops VERY often, making the game unplayable... I hope this is fixed soon before I lose interest completely.

Lack of content, mostly.

As others have mentioned, playing on the same four or five, relatively small, maps over and over again gets boring after a while. Also team death match (what the available modes essentially are) is fun, sure, but it too gets boring if that's the only thing available.

What this game IMHO needs is a real objective based mode. Maybe something like a MWO version of a MOBA title? Where you have to destroy the enemy base or dropship or whatever alongside AI controlled troops?

Oh yeah and ECM could really use another balance pass.

Played a couple times, managed to get a COM-2D and load it up with ECM and Streaks, endo, FF , XL engine. Oh lord is that thing cheap. I've never felt so armored in an Atlas, and I didn't even have max armor on my Commando. Even with the cheapness of it though, I only played maybe 5-6 matches or so.

I play as often as I can. I kind of got a little distracted by playing through Saints Row 2 again, and school is starting up (with student teaching), but I'm basically going to try and use all of my gaming time for MWO, though it may only be once a week at this point. Have to see how the semester pans out.
