If you consider the game a grind, you should probably quit now. CW isn't going to change the fundamental mechanic of the game.

Less that it's a grind, and more that "Alright, I want to buy and level up this chassis next" is the only sense of progression I'm still getting. Half the fun of Mechwarrior/Battletech is experimenting with builds and changing things around. I can't play the same chassis endlessly. Until they give me other goals to work towards, all I have is to "grind" up new mechs, or money for new mechs. I don't want ot speed this process up with Premium, 'cause then I run out of stuff to do faster.

Havent activated mine yet. Don´t know why should I? There is still nothing interesting in the game that would need the boost from premium time. Since RnR is out, there is no danger of loosing cash, so.... why?
I have no advantage from activating it, so I say: Suck on it.

Well, for starters, because they will probably turn R&R back on (I hope they don't) at some point and having a big stock pile of cash would help if nothing else. Or you could be like me and have same stable of mechs you started with in August :D

Turning R&R off was the best thing to ever happen to this game, honestly. People actually fight robots now rather than skirt the edges of the map like timid mice. I approve.

I spent mine, but I have reservations about getting more because I believe that wanting to buy "boosts" may be saying bad things about your gaming experience.

You can argue that for players who don't have all the time in the world, buying a boost helps them remain competitive, or allows them to catch up to their peers, or allows them to... **** I don't know, waste their money?

To this I counter with:

This is a GAME! You're supposed to play it for the fun of playing it! Skipping through content to get to the "good parts" implies that there's lots of ****** parts inbetween.

Thus, if I think I need to buy an XP boost, perhaps I'm not actually having as much fun as I think I am, so rather than drop a wad of cash down on the game I'll just go and do something else for a while.

Having said that, I DO want to support the game because without our support the game will surely never leave open beta, which is why I'm still thinking of buying a boost and maybe a mech-bay or two.

No. Bored of the game at the moment, so activation would be pointless.

Like Bilbo said upthread, I don't really need it. I make money every match, and while the exp bonus would help grinding out variants I don't particularly like, I am ok without it. I am glad I didn't start it, only to have R&R removed (which would have been the big reason to use it).

This is kind of what I have been hoping for, but I might actually activate it this weekend. It's 2 months of Premium Time + the little extra bonus time from Penny Arcade. To be honest, I'll probably buy MC at a later point to add more premium time again after the 2 months is up.

I'm waiting until the JagerMech is in the game, so it'll last past when the Highlander is introduced.

I'm not interested in using my time so long as I can't get the higher level skills without wasting my time and money on mech variants I don't want. I already have all the mechs I like to play leveled all the way through basic, so there is no point. When XP is separate for each mech instead of forcing you to buy and level 3 98% identical chassis, then I'll use my premium time.

No, and at the rate things are going, I may never activate it.

I'm in the same boat. I don't intend to start my premium time until we're out of beta. It might not even have an impact in the long run, but you never know, and since at this stage of pre-launch, with entire game components that have yet to be implemented, I'd rather not use it up now before things change and I might want to use it later.

This is also why I'm hesitant to spend any of my MC

Mine's been rolling since day 1 of "open beta". I plan on injecting another 180 days once it runs out.

Do you really think CW's gonna be all that?

Do you really think you'll play more when CW arrives than you do now?

If not, you might as well hit the button now.

As for myself, I have not activated mine yet, and not cuz of CW, but why waste it on an average of 9 FPS, lag shield and all the other known bugs as well as the overall uncertainty of whats coming? Case in point, I started using trial mechs cuz R&R was paying out less than using trial mechs regardless if I won/survived or not) and then, they do away with R&R. IF that would have been known, I probably would have stuck with my owned mechs and kept my 3:1 K/D (which I know is nothing to brag about but in perspective of constantly playing at 9 fps, with 4 in heavy combat, is considerably better than it should be) When that improves, then I'll activate.

I haven't bothered. I have 21 Mechs and 40 million in cash, and I purchased all but the Founders Mechs using c-bills.

I eagerly awaited the Stalker and bought 3 of them, outfitted them, and mastered them as soon as they came out. I don't buy Hero Mechs because they're ridiculously overpriced. The Spider doesn't interest me, because until they fix the net code there's very little point in using any Mech lighter than 35 tons - you're not getting any extra speed, just less armor and less weapons.

So honestly, I see no reason to activate premium time right now. Hopefully there will be a reason to do so eventually...

Still sitting on it but itching to hit that button. Pretty painfull grind if you don't play 6+ hours a day. Can't play every night, and when I do play the Cbills creap up 1 million a day.

Week of playing for a module, 2 weeks for an Atlas... Maybe I'll just go for it when the Highlander comes in.

When EU servers go up and we get promised transfers. Then I will play the **** out of MWO and activate. So I guess... not anytime soon :D
