And to those lucky enough to get INTO Beta...

You are bound by NDA...

NOT ALLOWED TO SAY YOUR PARTICIPATING IN BETA ANYWHERE

Being removed from Beta may or may not extend past the Launch date. Behave!

wait... we cant even say if we're in or not? I mean... doesn't really matter to me that much, I'll follow your rules, but that seems like such a silly reason to have someone removed.

also, is there a certain part of the forums that beta testers only can access so as to provide viable suggestions and criticisms without the information being public?

Not that silly really. The NDA is a legally binding contract, and if broken there can be lots of reprecussions. People are liable to be unreliable, and thus can't be held at their word, and that's where the NDA comes into play. If they squeal about the pre-launch status of the game ( the unfinished product ) it could possibly, plausibly, be bad for business.

Two questions I havent seen - though admittedly, this thread has gotten longer than I've the patience for - but anyways:

Will there be more than 1000?
Will there be an open beta?

From last count, I believe there is now 2000 total... I think, IIRC that the first wave was 1000, followed by two subsequent waves of 500 apiece. Open beta I believe will be starting sometime in July, or at least access for those of us whom purchase the Elite or Founder packs... But don't take my entire word for it. I've been known to be wrong before ;)

Actually, the July Founder's Pack is still considered Closed Beta (according to the Devs), so I assume they will still have to Vet you before you get access.

Open Beta usually has no vetting process; you just download and play. I assume that will come in August.

I would think (based on previous 'early access' packages in other games, that it'll be open beta by that stage in every way but access. By that point, the only difference between it an open beta is likely to be the only people with access are closed beta testers and those buying the Founders packs. Odds are (again, based solely on experiences with other titles) anywhere from two days to at most two weeks after early access goes live, the game goes 'open' for anyone.

It's quite likely by early access, they'll lift the NDA and there won't be a vetting process, it'll just be a time to milk some money by encouraging people to pay for the packages to gain access a little earlier then the general population.

If I make it into either beta stage (closed or open), I don't mind either way. Though I'd like to be able to play in either beta.
I have my pilot ID reserved, and there's gonna be (literally) millions of tons of Battlemechs out there to hammer on.
