All I want to do is play this game on my 52 inch sharp aquis. Plus I hope my graphic card will be able to handle the game nvidia GeForce 9800 gtx +

I hear ya. I have a 52" Samsung out in my living room, but my PC is in my office (about 20 feet away) I've yet to find a solution that can take my rendered information and sling it through a wall in HD resolution (1080p) with no latency.

Of course, if it can sling the audio in 5.1, that would be sweet too. I would then just need to find a way to get my input (kbd/mouse) back to the PC as well...... Hmmmm...

Oh boy, this probably means im a not getting in very soon i applied yesterday and have not had as much experiance as these others desperatly waiting to get in.

My odds do not look good :)

They will want feedback from everyone not just the die hard fans, newer players can add unique perspectives too, like is it easy to understand and play to a guy whos not in the know :(

You are in the same boat as me. Just applied today and have close to no knowledge of the Battletech universe. But that also means we may have a good chance of getting in as well. They not only need the input from huge fans who know what they are talking about lore-wise, they also need input from people like us who can help out on the fun factor. They want the game to follow closely to the Battletech lore, but they also wish to have the game actually be fun to play. People like us can help out with that second part. Rather than telling them that the Raven is too slow to be a Raven or an Atlas' guns are not big enough and don't do enough damage, we can say why the Raven is not fun to play when compared to a Catapult with a "because such and such".

Hey thanks I didn't think of it that way ;) they may actually need newbies to see if evrything is consistant and makes sense to us :D

But please, please, PLEASE do not believe that you absolutely need to pilot an assault to be successful. I have seen lights or mediums being piloted well, taking out assaults.

You cannot compare a raven to a catapult, both are very different mechs for very different purposes. Please read up about BT if you have just come into the game cold.

Maybe if you installed it in compatability mode? That's all google told me. I'm guessing it doesn't work though, or there wouldn't be webpages discussing a patch to make it work on Vista.

I tried it yesterday, I got graphics corruption in hardware rendering.

Software rendering resulted in a nauseating but usable interface,

The main issue was that the physics broke down in game, even without jumpjets your mech floats 50 meters up in the air once you bounce, and the same happens to vehicles going over hills like a trampoline.

It did kinda work under windows 98 compatability mode, but was virtually unusable.

most people seem to put the problems down to graphics drivers though, not windows 7.

If you somehow manage to get it working I'd be curious to hear how.

(there are various patches I tried to get it working, but all they did was cause the load up to fail.)

If any of you want to play a MW game that works on OS7 RIGHT NOW, check out Mektek's MW4 free install and MechWarrior: Living Legends (MW:LL).

MW:LL is a BETA mod for Crysis - it requires Crysis Wars - that is the multip[layer version that comes with Crysis Warhead. Sometimes you can purchase Warhead from Steam for under $10 - I got mine for $7. If you decide this is the route, go to the MW:LL wiki for install instructions - the current release 0.5.6 is available there for download (read the install instructions FIRST!!!!).

MW:LL is a very different game from MW4 and from what MW:O will be - MW:LL has Mechs, tanks, aerospace, vtols, artillery and Battle Armors. It is a Beta Mod to Crysis so keep that in mind while you are playing. There is a learning curve but do NOT hesitate to ask for help whether in-game or on the MW:LL forums.
