it's unlikely that anyone who hasn't bought a founder's pack will see the beta in the next 2 weeks or more. all the founders should be in or will be soon, per Russ' post, on friday. the rest of us, who either can't afford a founder's pack or aren't willing to buy our way into the beta program, will be waiting a bit longer, at least. this closed beta is for initial load testing and probably some tweaking of the mechs that will be available for open beta. so, either be patient for open beta or find something else to fill your time until you get notified of open beta. waiting for a closed beta invite is likely doing nothing but raising your stress level and may actually make you not want the game by the time you get to play it. there are plenty of other things to fill your time, until you get your shot. check the forums every 3 or 4 days and play the old games or something.

Its the fact that they had a LONNNG time to fix stuff. Most games just go to alpha for a few days and go right to OBT, that way they can get people excited for the game. This invite only **** is getting stupid. Its what made a lot of people say "screw you DOTA 2". I don't like how they tell imply "Hey buy our **** or ull have to w8 like a year before we release the game". I can already see how this game will go down (CASH SHOP TO WIN) Guess we will have to w8 another month so they can milk the packs a little more. But hey what do i know im not a dev... Just saying how i see it.

Wow I didnt know i bought my way into the closed beta i thought that was just a bonus to getting 4 free mech that will earn me 25% more income per battle and 3 mo premium account when MWO goes live.

correct me if i'm wrong but the founder packs could be bought until august the 7th and from what i've read, you now get an instant invite to the closed beta when you buy a founder pack? if so, people who arent willing to pay wont get into the closed beta before the 7th of august making every beta apply useless.

Wow. Issues much? Most games do not do open for a few days and go straight to open beta. Sad that you think they do, but I guess with the crap cross-platform games that some companies spew I could see how you would think that. They said it will be out by the end of summer, and I see no reason not to believe that at this point.

I'm a little bummed that it seems the only way to get beta access is to pre-order the game...

Well since I don't pay to make sure I'm included in the beta I'll just keep waiting and playing MechWarrior/BattleTech the way I have been since back in 1985. Guess people who have played the game since before some of the devs might have been born don't count in the scheme of things.

So, as of now, since the Beta is open to founders - are we allowed to say we are playing (say to a friend, or on facebook or something) as long as we don't post screenshots or videos and whatnot? I would not have known about this game if someone hadn't talked honestly. No, they didn't show screenshots or anything like that, but if nobody talks about it how are new players expected to be drawn in?

I'm not being sarcastic, btw, I really am curious...

From what I understand, founders are a walking catch-22.

Founders all get immediate beta access per site descriptions, but even if you have the founder tag under your profile, you can't actually confirm you have beta access, because you can't confirm/deny beta participation.

Which makes forum posts even more amusing, because we can't toggle the Founder tags.

I think its funny people saying thats absurd to buy a founders pack... "it's buy to win!" " I'm buying a beta invite!" Others complain from the free to play system...

What you guys want? that the team behind the game work for free just to amuse your lame ***? It's a FREE game already, the only profit they will have will be selling founders pack and vip months. Think about it. Sometimes I think piracy is the one to blame for people being so selfish...

Does these 1000 invites get sent to random people or just people who paid?

Those 1000 invites at OP were from months ago... and what we know now is that those who paid for a founders pack will get immediate access and only those who did not will have to wait for an invitation to join in beta. Still waiting here... *sigh* Perhaps some of us will get the keys soon.
