Both shotgun/spread damage types of weaponry
SRM6=15 damage
LBX10=10 damage
SRM6=3 Tons
LBX10=11 Tons
SRM6=2 Slots
LBX10=6 Slots
SRM6=4 Heat
LBX10=2 Heat
Why exactly would you ever take an LBX-10?
SRM6 outshines it in every way. BY ALOT.

LBX10= 4 Max DPS
SRM6=300 Projectil Velocity
LBX10=1100 Projectil Velocity
SRM6=270 Meters Max Range
LBX10=1620 Meters Max Range (at 600 Meters you can still hit an Atlas with 6 Damage...
enough for kill assist )
http://mwomercs.com/...s-excel-inside/
So the LBX10 does more DPS, has 0.2 HPS, has more reach, a far better Projectil Velocity
On the Con's: Weight much more, needs more Slots Spreads Damage more.
And it uses a total different slot. So it is in no competition with the SRM6.
Edt.:
The SRM6 needs 4 Slots and 5 Tons.
The LBX-10 Needs 9 Slots and 14 Tons.
please count the ammo in for a typicall Brawler Match Length
SRM6 needs about 1 1/2 Ammo packs and the LBX-10 2 1/2 Ammo Packs in a typicall Combat.

better bullet flight time.

... and less heat on the LBX.
But me personally I like the LBX but I don't consider it as a primary weapon.
For me it shines as a 'sidearm', nifty when combined with for example hot (ER)PPC or LPL.

For instance, in MW4, it work by shooting the cluster as one single shot, then spread on impact. Hit the center of a location, all the damage hit only that spot. It also decreased the damage by a % the further out you were, holding true to the spirit that it is an infighter weapon. Also, they buffed the damage on the LB-10x to 14, instead of 10 being fully aware of the damage spread.
But no, we're current stuck with some awful attempt at copying TT mechanics 1 to 1 with this thing and the result is a garbage weapon.

LBX is effective against lag shielding, but then, so are SRMs which was entirely the point of the thread I believe.

I've tried the LBX over and over, and they just don't do enough damage.
I think they should do 1.2 or 1.3 damage per pellet, so a hit at close range with all pellets would do 12 or 13 damage. That would make the weapon more desirable.

The LBX-10 spreads always the same?
No it doesn't.
I noticed it that the DRG-1C ( AC2 long barrel) has tighter grouping in it'***** with the LBX-10 then a DRG-1N ( AC5 Barrel )
The Flame got the same Spread as the DRG-1C.
Worst Spread is out of the AC20 Barrel ( HBK-4G, AS7-D) and the spread out of an AC10 Barrel is not so well either.
The best Barrel for an LBX is the AC-2 Barrel, closely followed by the LBX-10 Barrel.
The spread is nearly the same. And they have some kind of Choke so that the Clusters spread later in the flight.
Enabling the shootist to hit one Section at 20-40 Meters. Then it splits.
AC-5 Barrel has much decreased Choke, the AC10 Barrelhas nearly one.
And AC20 Barrel let the Cluster split right after the Muzzle.
This should be considered when using an LBX-10
For me only the three Barrels with Choke works the AC-2, LBX-10 barrels are fine.
The AC-5 barrel somehow manageable.
But in the Big guns Barrel it don't work.
Didn't test an UAC/5 Barrel so far, would be intresting.

But I like it over any of the other AC weapons.

Interesting.
I know about Missile tubes but i never considered AC Barrels effecting LBX.
I have to test this.

The reasons are multiple:
1) LBX can fire faster. Thus people running pure SRM configs (SRM-a-pults for instance) can be easily disrupted right before they take their shot with something to juggle their cockpit. It also does more damage over time as a result.
2) Heat management is easier. By splitting it up into three distinct weapons groups I can simply use the LBX whenever heat is a problem (caldera on caustic >_< ).
3) Damage is easier to direct. The SRM6 launcher puts those six missiles in a huge spread - the LBX is much tighter even coming out of an ac10 barrel such as the CN9-A's. I'll have to test the aforementioned 'choke' to see if it does function as stated. If so, that's even more reason.
4) Fast velocity makes for easy hits on moving targets (Such as lights).
5) Greater range - when fighting a streak a pult or streak-boating centurion it's easy to keep them at maximum range and pick them apart with lasers/scattergun fire while they keep trying to rush into range to get their big alpha off.
