1. While capping doesn't have a C-bill bonus, it does have a fairly potent XP bonus (75 for every team member, 50 for those who assist in cap), which is far greater than a single kill.
2. Just because you may want to twiddle your thumbs if you reach a cap point without sighting the enemy, doesn't mean he will (just lost a game that way. 6 mechs doing nothing , as the enemy started capping. They went back, too late).
3. The mission is an assault. You go in expecting battle, but the ultimate goal is too win.
4. Mech size, Assault mechs hate caps in general, however lights lack the endurance and constitution for prolonged battle, and the cap is part of survival techniques for lights.
5 Capping makes you think about both offence and defence.
6. You want Death Match, ask for it.
couldn't agree more, the threat of a cap adds to battlefield awearness and stratgys to play out, death match will just enforce the blob vs blob factor that's made the game stale. also people who can't defend a base deserves everything they get and the team who out foxes them with such a simple move deserves the xp they need to level up to the dominant min/maxers ASSP. double xp weekend should be a warning, defence will be the key stratagy, you have been warned cap whingers.
