Ok, 1 AC2 has same DPS than 2 (because of heating problems). Go ahead, and remove 1 AC2 from your spider, see what the DPS is.

your "alpha strike" obviously won't be the same (because of the medium laser), but you still have better heat efficiency as before.

That's the max SUSTAINED damage per second, so at 2.51 DPS it will never overheat.

Underneath and to the right it shows 25.09 max DPS.

of course since you cant really just set it to 2.51 dps (the weapons i mean) you will probably be able to get above or below that dps without overheating, thats often a useless stat since its all the weapons combined and doesn't take into account weapons like guass rifles that would be able to fire with out heat problems, so guass+large laser would have lower max sus dps even though its technically the same, both would fire guass infinitely

I was looking for the lightest engine possible, but still not being too small. So I bought an xl200 and tried sticking it into my trebuchet; could fit 3 PPCs and 2 streaks, but it was quite boring and too hot. So I decided to do a slow gausspult, just to see how much firepower you could cram into it. It's sort of glasscannonish, but can still hold its own. I don't think I've ever seen this loudout in a match strangely enough..

2 gauss + 4 tons of ammo
2 large lasers
max speed is 54.8 with speed tweak

O man, this thread is still up? I haven't been on in a month or two. My apologies to my fellow Robinson Rangers if you read this here... been sort of distracted by Warframe and Star Wars: The Old Republic... yeah I know, late on the bangwagon bandwagon on this one but MAN I'm really into this (also, gf digs it so it's kind of an even greater incentive to play over MWO. SO SORRY GUYS).

But...

I'M PATCHING NOW, THOUGH! Can't wait to see what insanity awaits.

The craziest build I've ever seen was an enemy Cicada with 2 AC20s and no armor.

We encountered him at the very end of a round in Tourmaline Assault, after we had killed his entire team and were piling into his base. There was no warning. Only a sudden thunderclap and a dead friendly with 2 smoking craters where his CT used to be. He had stood, powered down, in the shade of a crystal formation and and waited until we arrived. He didn't last long after that, but I suspect that was an incredibly satisfying end for him.

100kph jump juet treb, has some lasers, so it is viable. The LRM are for LULZ, for maximum effect, fire them while you are running at full speed strafing the foe. Especially amusing on Canyon using a spotter for indirect fire. You can make it almost from the bridge to the one big corner following the river if you are full out when you start the LRM 20 launch.

Line of missiles firing for 1000M is amusing. 2x LRM 5 make it actually do somthing too with the LRM, but only if you want to. Havent played mine in a while, used to run it with my brother's Cicada 3M so he could spot and watch from the other end of it, but havent teamed with him in a good while now.

You can do the same thing on a blackjack and with much more speed (XL).

That's how we roll! A Dragon that has to be at around 200m to engage? What could possibly go wrong? I seriously love this mech though. Get right up in someones mix. Alpha. Despair while looking at the heat meter/Laugh Manically at damage wrought.
