Wish there was a way to map weapon groups before match started. When match starts and have to map weapon, everyone has already started off and I become the straggler and sometimes singled out because I'm not part of the main lance. Sometimes very frustrating wasting those few precious moments.

My units tend to keep the configuration once I have set it up from mission to mission. I only need to re-group if I change a weapon. I know what you mean though, the worst trial unit for me was the stalker, it took forever to make it useable.

yeah, just a pain when trying to get the best weapon groups once the mech purchase is complete. Brand new chassis just have to have all their weapons yanked to best suit the driver.

I have seen it suggsted before, and I highly support the idea:

Make it so that you can set weapons groups during the countdown clock.

That's really all we'd need. I wouldn't be surprised if it got fixed within the next few years, but it should be prioritized very low relative to other issues. Hard to know from this chair whether that's an easy fix or not.

I'd like to be able to define permanent weapon groupings in the mechlab, which would persist across multiple games, and temporary weapon groupings ingame. That would allow me to shift groupings to suit the situation, such as losing an arm, while still ensuring that I don't start the next game with an armless weapon grouping setup.

I agree, though, that this is a lot lower priority than, say, getting the netcode optimized. I'd rather have poor weapon groupings firing at a smoothly moving target over a fantastic weapon-grouping firing at a rubber-band.
