So I was playing a couple PUG matches today because I did not want to use voice coms and my wife was home, and I noticed something. As I was playing my rounds I found that the general quality of both my team and the other team had both increased since the last time I pugged substantially. This has also reinforced the feeling I have been getting when playing 4 mans, that the average player is getting much better at building their mechs and playing the game. I lose more and have better teammates on a much more consistent basis. Has anyone else noticed this?
There has not been such a high level of player skill since I played closed beta. This is encouraging when I even see it in trial dragons or stalkers or centurions along with normal modded mechs.

No, there just are way more 4 man premades out there than before, because 8v8 seems to suck. You know, 50% of the premades are actually losing there...

The premades are out in force for the double-xp weekend.

8v8 seems to suck because you'll have cheese teams with 3 twinked ECM ravens and five brawlers with nothing but gauss.
Cap base to a sliver, if anyone turns a round, focus in the back. What's that? Your abysmal skill meant that two mechs mopped up the five of you? No problem, just cap the base!
Feel superior afterwards, remember, this is important.

I noticed more and more people packing ECM, either Raven 3L or Atlas D-DC. It's a shame because it forces you to bring your own ECM to counter, which brings it to the first problem of people stacking ECM, vicious cycle. If you run into a match without anybody brining an Atlas D-DC or Raven 3L, consider it a rarity.
