Lol at the people thinking it's bugged, you just need to aim better. It's actually very easy to kill a Cent if you aim carefully at the CT and only take clear shots at it. The problem is people who just shoot whenever they have the enemy in their LoS and spread the damage all over the Cent thinking it'll work like on other mechs, it doesn't because you can't hit a Cent's torso as long as it's facing you with the arms

Its designed to be the bodyguard to the Trebuchet so it sould be hard to kill. When you compare it to the hunchback they have about the same armor but he CT is so much harder to hit so it just feels stronger. I've ben face to face with with a cent with my AC-10 CTF-4x and had the 2 shots go right through the CT armpit gaps.

Or, you can do it the hardcore way - like I always do - by bringing a larger 'Mech and/or a larger gun and BLAST ALL THE WAY TO DAT CT.

They are though buggers for sure. I am less scared of them than Hunchbacks, but they are harder to kill. I'm really enjoying the AC20 right now, so thinking about a Wang.

A cent should be able to host 46 points of armor CT front and 18 points CT rear. thats a combined 74 points. The awesome mech is a 100 point CT. Of course, with PGI's "double armor bonanza!!!" rules.

What do you want? what you're feeling right now is the Double armor at work. Your weapons are less powerful per fire against the armor, so if you dont hit them all in the same spot, double firing speed is only 1x to 1.5x damage with your weapons, while doing 2x heat.

That's how they changed the game.

I run mine Cent right now with 304/338 armor. It does seem to really take a beating, especially if the armor is maxed. I read the shield gives 100 or so more points of damage, like free armor, and you should try to keep the shield toward enemy and learn to shoot over it with the arm. Not sure that's an accurate number but the shield supposedly does absorb some damage.

ETA here it is about the shield

http://mwomercs.com/...nturions-guide/

"If you consider you're able to use your left arm as a shield, that basically give you 32 "Free" points of armor to use as a soak at any given time."

It's not "giving you free armor". It's just an arm that you allocate armor points to, then use. You can do this with any mech, build a throwaway arm to soak damage.

You could also look at it as an arm in which you can't mount weapons, but becomes a liability if you don't armor it (massive exposure to your Side torso if the arm is gone).

Love my Cent, I have literally been one leg, CT, head and 0 armor on any of them and still managed to get a kill with the ML's. And all you can do is laugh at it.

it takes "Balls" to master the Wang but after a while u get accustomend to his hugenes and u wont let anybody touch ur mighty wang!
so let that usless arm take all the heat
and then when theyre overheating and standing still u turn around and show them the wang in all its beauty and that will blow their head of ( but only if u dont rush it and take ur time to alleign the money shot )

nothing beats an ac/20 to the head point blank range !

Loving my CN9-D, although I'm thinking of doing away with the XL, but then I'd be required to compromise on guns... Tough decision

How is it that you make 20 posts a day whining about double armour and have never figured it out? They want the game to be slower. They want mechs to take more punishment. That is what sets MWO apart from all the other twitch shooters and FPS games out there. Here, read this article all about it.

Want mechs that go down quick like you were playing CoD? I hear Hawken is pretty nice.

I pilot Centurions a lot and the survivability is great for the simple reason that the CT is very hard to target and a good Cent pilot can make it even more difficult.

You typically have to chew through first the left arm, then the left side torso - then the Cent pilot will flip over and give you the right arm, then the right side torso - the combined armour points of all those sections is like coring out an Atlas, twice.

When I am fighting another Cent I usually shoot for the legs (unless they have some pre-existing damage) - these will typically carry less than 40pts armour each and aren't small.
