I hear lots of complaints on the spider.
Mine would be the legs, they are way too weak. Not against weapon fire but normal use.
Here I am haulin arse across just about any map, a slight bump and my legs are flashing, they're yellow now. WHAT!?!
I've run all the lights and never had such a problem keeping my legs undamaged. Forget jumping, more times then not the slightest use of jumpjets leaves your legs damaged.
My suggestion, if you're going to leave the spiders legs so weak is to make a reinforcement module for the JJ users legs. Something to make the legs strong enough that I can run across terrain and not damage my legs, maybe even make them strong enough that if my mech JJs run out of fuel I can fall a small distance and not take damage.
Maybe even something to lessen damage from "death from above" if you(PGI) ever implement it.
<Suggestion> Spiders Legs Collapse

its not the spider's legs that are weak. Its all light mechs have an issue with speed and the smallest change in elevation up or down when running will cause leg damage lol. It does need to be addressed but again, its not just the spider. I was in a jenner a few days ago and just going down a hill, every spot i hit that was not level gave me some damage to my legs. On river city, i stepped up onto a curb lol and got leg damage.

after a few skirmishes in my commando my legs were badly damaged. As I was running away I killed myself because I did enough damage just running across somewhat level ice (little bumps across it) to destroy both my legs.
Suicide by running, that's pretty sweet.

I get the occasional leg damage. But suicide from running!? No.

Of the two versions i kept of the spider one in particular is the 12 jump jet model. I have found it pretty easy to maintain leg health and still make use of my jump jets as much as possible. Jump jets 101 people, always save fuel for your landings. 15-25% is the optimal region i have come to maintain for my landings and contrary to popular belief i rarely take landing damage. Trust me that this works if not go try it for yourself, works for any mech with jump jets.

I tried walking slow once and still took a lot of damage from small falls/bumps in the spider. I sold my spider and bought a hunchback. I don't regret it.

Yes, we're all aware of that. But if you read and comprehend all being said we're also talking about running cross terrain not using jump jets at all.
