Its getting bad out there today with people who deliberately shoot their own teammates.

I have had it happen to me twice in a row now, latest one was a heavy mech that started to shoot at at least two of our light mechs.. perhaps he didnt like lights?

It has happened to me too today.

There needs to be punishment for it.

Please report such behaviour to support so that it gets investigated.

Remember, sometimes its just noobs trying out new weapon setups or misclicking. Just yesterday for example I had a guy who said somehow his PTT key was linked to his fire selected weapon group key.

The shots right as the timer is done are from noobs who don't realize that clicking mouse button one fires group one. If they're in a heavy and you're in a light ... it can team kill.

Yes, lots of people start shooting right at get-go but thats not what i was refering to. I refered to people who deliberately take aim and shoot teammates.

I have reported the ones i caught the names on but i have missed several today unfortunately.

I have reported some intentional TK noobs as well. When screen caps work anyways.

The problem is the number of them doing this is growing. I told one I was reporting him and he said something to the effect that others have said that they have reported him many times and nothing was done. That apparently tells him that it's okay to TK.

Let's just be clear: You are talking about only INTENTIONAL team kills, right? Because twice TODAY I've had someone in a Hunchback step in front of me as a laser goes hot, steal my kill, AND cost me a TK. TK's suck for all involved, except for the intentional TKing folks apparently. Nonetheless, losing a ton of CBills and XP for someone else not watching where he's going? That's more than sufficient penalty for an honest mistake...

This is the worst possible scenario as he will tell his buddies about it and how fun it is to mess with people and that it is risk free.
Then next time we get all his buddies doing it also..

Yes we are talking about intentional TKs, not the simple accidents that happen.

Cool. Cuz I got VERY angry the second time I had someone step in front of me for the TK/steal (didn't even get his steal, as it turned out, cost me the kill shot, and the one that got away went on to kill more friendlies) today. Oh, I can't wait until server-side is available to the community, and we can set up our own TK penalties...

Or is that ever coming?

With everyone trying to hug the enemy, TKs are going to happen.

Yeah, theres getting blasted right off the start(intentional) and someone walking infront of a gauss-cat which is most likely(unintentional).

Haven't seen to many TK'ers as of late, but as for friendly fire....

All I can say is too many of my teammates decide to dash infront of me while I'm alpha striking, and there are too many trigger happy LL users who hit me rather then the mech I'm brawling @_@

How well is the devs logging the matches/teamkills? Cause i am seeing this system being abused in the future. . .

With all the rambo light mechs running around especally for some reason in front of my/your AC/20, some guys gonna get angry and report because some one ruind his K/D ratio.....

It would be good to have an ingame reportsystem for a lot of things, like TKs, harassment, afk/bots and such things.

Agreed. Too many teammates run into my firing line, then complain of friendly fire. I had a light yesterday, run from behind me on the side of my AC20 and an lpl as I fired, taking all that damage into his already softened rear LT. He was very quick on the chat, saying he was going to report me

There does need to be some sort of disincentive for deliberate team killing in a match.

Learning is probably the only way that the accidental sort is going to decrease. Obviously in the chaos & excitement of close combat pilots can very easily get tunnel vision - I've been there myself. However, the number of times other mechs have seemingly deliberately stepped in front of my ATL7 to kill steal just as I get in to firing position for an alpha strike does surprise me. Number of kills is absolutely meaningless if the friendly team is defeated!

More people need to realise that K:D is a meaningless ratio that demonstrates precisely nothing about a pilot's ability. This is a team game and the W:L ration is, to my mind, vastly more important. For those who want numbers to slowly increase in a meaningless stat box somewhere - go away. Play Medal of Duty 12 or whatever pointless 12-part DLC twitch shooter nonsense is currently popular. Leave the mech piloting to those of us who want to win, not individually dominate.

A number of suspension have been issued. TKs are tract along with Team Damage. We are currently analyzing Team Damage telemetry. Expect changes to the penalties soon.

On any given day, there are only around 2000 TKs vs 100,000s of kills. As previously mentioned please report any TKers. We can easily verify their actions against match histories! Thanks!

In my experience the number of TKers out there is incredibly small compared to the greater community. Of far greater concern is the number of d/c's while the match is loading. It seems that in 50% of matches at least one person d/c's before or during the countdown, leading to an unfair fight. TKs, on the other hand, only happen very very rarely (the intentional kind). I think the current reporting system is adequate for this.

"TKs are tract along with Team Damage."
- So if someone reported me for TKing you guys could check the logg and see if i did 600 or 6 dmg to a friendly guy? Which is great if you can.

"Expect changes to the penalties soon"
- If i where to accidently sweep a large laser over a moving target and TK a friendly behind with a critical center torso and do like 2 dmg, will i get full penalty?
