Small bug, says I have 5/3 elite variants unlocked for the spider... pic pretty much explains it. Circled it in red. Also promoted my other two Spiders to master despite me not having the third to master yet, used GXP to get those two through elite, standard grinding mech xp for all the basic ranks.

Training 3 variants of a single chassis is only required to unlock Elite level. Unlocking Master level only requires completing Elite training on any 3 variants of any mechs within the weight class. Then any variant within the weight class (Light, Medium, Heavy or Assault) which has completed Elite training will have Master unlocked, even if no other variants of that chassis have trained a single Elite skill.

Edit: The 5/3 refers to how many you needed for the unlock (3) and how many you have (5).

I don't see how I would have 5 spiders though when there are only 3 variants to unlock.

It does appear to be a bug. Did you put in a ticket?

Not yet, will do that now.

Also for OneEyed Jack, here is what my Cicadas look like, properly showing that I have 3 variants to elite.

I have all 3 Ravens at master and I have the two Spiders as shown in the picture. Now I do have all 3 catapults at master, yet my muromets still says it only has 1/3 maxed with basic. Could there be an unmentioned feature for maxing lights that circumvents them receiving much less xp than heavies and assaults in matches? Sent in my ticket a few hours ago, guess I will see in the response later this week.

Unlocking elite requires finishing basic for 3 mechs with the same chassis.

Unlocking master requires finishing elite for 3 mechs in the same weight class.

So to answer your initial question 3 ravens + 2 spiders = 5 mechs that count towards your spider's master unlock.

Its the tricky wording again, thanks for the clarification!
