Good bet Banshee will be the next announced Assault. Don't think they would add in another 100 ton yet (King Crab).

Blackjack, Jagermech, and Highlander. There aren't any assaults in this era that carry multiple ballistics. I suppose you could count the Victor 9A1 with two leg-mounted MGs plus the AC/20.

Just like the Cicada those MGs will be moved up from the legs. So, maybe it will be the ballistic mech people want?

One of you BT people tell me the answer to the following

what upcoming mech has a lot of Ballistic slots? I don't really count the jager. It's too light for my liking.

Its 65 tons?

That is about it, Highlander and Orion have a ballistic, but weather they are going to have multiples is unkown.

If you are trying to build a gausszilla Kraken, you may have a wait ahead of you.

I actually just wanted to boat a lot of ultra 5's , I guess they want to avoid putting a lot of ballistic mechs in game because of scary they can be.

It makes me wonder if the Annihilator would ever be put in game, 4 gauss rifles = stuff nightmares are made out of.. or what's in the toilet after taco bell.

The Jagermech is just an ugly Rifleman and total jank and the 'Treb is a lighter faster non-jumping Catapult, I's rather see a Dervish or or a Bushwhacker for mediums and a Guillotine or a Whammer for the heavies, but they already announced the 'mechs they announced and they are generally starting with traditional level 1 3025 'mechs so the choices are legit, though I'd like to see the reseen 'mechs like Griffins, Wolverines, Shadow Hawks, Rifleman, Whammer, Marauder, est

Have you tried the "Cataphract pretending to be a Marauder" build?

It @#$%ing sucks! :P

I managed OK on a few matches, 700+ damage, but it pretty much relies on the opposing team ignoring me :)

Pretty much the no count Jaeger. Orion has a similar loadout as the Atlas. Treb is lasers and missiles. Blackjack has ballistics, but is 30 tons lighter then Jaeger. Highlander might have a few Ballistics, but I think they are arm mounted. Flea has ballistics too, but at 20 tons...

Plus the Treb will be the first medium with some JJ varients!

I'd love to have some Shadow Hawks and Wolverines.
I suppose I'll have to make do with the upcoming Trebuchet for my fast jumping medium fix.

I foresee SRM and streak-buckets everywhere that week.

I would classify the Treb bucket as a "Light" 50. In that it will be able to achieve speeds only previously attainable by the CN9-D.

The CN9 and HBK are more suited for Brawling and Line work, the Treb will be able to fill a more Striker build. Able to move around the battlefield a lot faster with the bigger engine and jumpjets to provide LRM or heavy concentrations of SRMs.

Personally I have a list of my favorite mechs and the Trebuchet is on it.

Go pull the 3050 TRO, 84 is dead average for IS mechs of this timeline.

I'm hoping that ECM will be kicked into line by then.

Trebuchet-Jaegermech-Highlander-Flea-Blackjack-Orion-?

I hope they won'T release them in this order, because I really want that Orion. :)

Concerning the Trebuchet, I really don't understand what its purpose will be. What can it do, what a HBK SP or J can't? I mean sure, it'll add variety to the battleflield but what else?

This brings me to another question:

Why do mechs of the same weight have the same armor points in the exact same places? Why isn't there more variety to destinguish them from another? For example, I think a Hunchback should be able to carry more armor around if it's maxed then a Trebuchet. But a Trebuchet should be able to fit a bigger engine to go faster. That would at least give them more differences when it comes to capabilities.

I bet it will. I take back the streaks. I run a Cent with two srms and a streak but I use my streak to fire with my Auto Cannon when ECM's not in the equation.

It will be faster, with JJ, and probably more missile points than either.

I want to bust out my "Get the **** off my Atlas" CN9-A x3 ssrm AC10 and a couple las. It USED to be a seriously fun mech.

Ditto. Had exactly that build on my very first owned mech, and I still think it was one of the funnest mechs I've piloted. I want to be able to run it again.

But not for 50 ton battlemechs, at 3050 time there was only 6 IS mechs available.

Hunchback - 64 (18.5 tons of weapons and ammo)
Enforcer - 64 (19.5 tons of W&A )
Centurion - 64 ( 22 tons of W&A )
Crab - 86 (11.5 tons of W&A)
Phoenix - 86 ( 10 tons of W&A)
Trebuchet - 86 (21 tons of W&A)

The Crab, Phoenix and the Trebuchet all give either armor, heat sinks, weapons or all 3 for the ability to go faster.

The Trebuchet packs a impressive amount of firepower it still has only 10 standard heat sinks and not to mention only a 1 ton more armor than what's on my Spider.

Then again this is just stock, we can play around with this all we want but what's important is that the way MWO works this will allow us to put higher Rated Engines in this mech to make it go all the more faster.

Add in the ability to use jumpjets and it can make quite a potent combination. Even more so when Jumpjets get fixed.

With it's pure energy and missile load outs you can count on stacking on some weapons without being limited to bulky ballistics.

I'm excited.
