Personally I'm tired from lots of unnecessary clicking. We can't even use wheel-scrolling for zooming. And I don't use 1.5x zoom at all.
So this is a poll about the need of removing it or at least adding an option for disabling it.

No need to remove it. It would be a great help to be able to bind the zoom levels to individual keys though.

There are tons of instances when zoomed-out is too far away and 3x is too close.

Mh it depends on the distance iam shoting at.
If i aim at certains part of a mech at 200-400 m i kinda often use the 1.5 zoom.

I have a question why it bothers you at all ? Since you can simple jump to 3x zoom w/o going over 1.5 ?!

I have a 3 monitor setup, depending on the cockpit windows of my mechs I use it almost every game.
Best 1.5x view so far Hunchback SP, no loss of FOV. Going to try Spider and Cataphract after tomorrows patch.

I would like to know how you do that too, please.

I thought that was for the extended zoom module, but defaults to 3x if you don't have it? I've honestly never tried that, and it seems so simple.

That's not good. So what to do if you do have advanced zoom (like me) and don't want to use 1.5x one?

Why aren't you using the 4x, or swapping mods?

Cause it's using 4x digital zoom ripped from a Chinese camera produced in 90s? And thus it's only useful only in specific situations.

My thing is that I don't get why it is 1.5x. Normal is 1.0x, max is 3.0x, and the module is 4.0x. So why isn't the first 2.0x?

I find a use for all modes of vision other than night. I do like players that do not, since they are great at padding my salvage income.

yeah, this has been on my personal wish list for a while

we need at least an option to disable 1.5x. I almost never want 1.5x, and the extra button click is annoying as hell, especially when you lag and the button press doesnt register, so you instinctively press again, only to have it zoom out, and then back to 1.5x

making mousewheel bindable again would also be nice.
