Normally, I'm against TKing (Unless they're bronies, always TK a brony). However, in the past couple of days, I've had to participate in some killing of my own teammates. Now, before you flame me *Turns flame shield on* LET ME EXPLAIN!

Now I understand, sometimes people are fiddling with their weapon groupings, and a stray volley of whatever hits someones. Most people are polite enough to say somethings like, "Sorry about that," or as the kids like to say nowadays, "My bad." And this is OK, and perfectly understandable, and most of all, it make it clear that the intent was not to shoot a teammate in the back,

Now, a few nights ago, I'm playing with a friend, and we're just having a ball, chatting with each other on Teamspeak. All of a sudden, some Ilya (not gonna name names) shoots me in the back and is all like, "Punkass commando." (I know, funny right, cause my name). Now, based on this person's response to firing on my backside, this made it quite clear that this was not some sort of accidental weapons test. My friend and I turn around and proceed to shoot him in the face until he went *boom*. And of course he is like, "ZOMG, why you TK me!?!" To which my response was to question whether or not his emotional state was that of anger.

Last night, I again am rolling with some friends, and some 4SP decides to draw on my backside with some medium lasers. One teammate calls out the person who shot me, and my friends and I proceed to circle this person. I, with my "Mighty TAG of +1 Annoyance" tags this 4SP in the cockpit, hopefully to cause as much damage to his corneas as possible. The 4SP proceeds to fire a volley of SRM6 at me, and an instant later, about 5 of my team members transform the 4SP into a burning wreak. Now of course, this person starts typing in chat, "TEAMKILLERS!" and "WHY DID YOU KILL ME!?!"

Now, let me reiterate, I'm not big on TKing. Being a man down is never a good thing. That being said, my friends and I have won plenty of game being a man down before. So please, before you decide that it might be funny to shoot someone in the back, just remember, they might be in a group, and they might be OK with being a man down. Seriously, I don't care, I'll take a hit to my EXP and C-bills if it means putting someone in their place for shooting me, or any other teammate, in the back intentionally.

So please, if you don't want to get shot in the face by your team, don't shoot your team in the back. Don't be a jerk, its not hard to grasp.

PGI may not agree, but wasting a fool who tries to TK you or any other member of the team is perfectly legitimate. I hope you reported those guys you killed.

I accidentally shot a team-mate with a PPC on my Cataphract at the start of a match, apologised instantly but they turned their Cat(apult) around and proceeded to open fire on a different Cat(aphract) who, of course, returned fire. Then they both stopped, glared at each other and the match carried on.

I love getting the cry babies who are shooting you blatantly, you turn around and pop them only to have them yelling at you that they'll get you banned.

It's funny.

The problem is ECM(had to blame it right) but seriously it seems some people cannot tell that even if it has no red arrow which one is the enemy.

There is always that split second before the red information pops up.

The banes and blessings of ECM I suppose.

I recently dropped into a game where a Stalker next to me opened fire on the Cataphract in front. When he did it a second time I realised it wasn't accidental and so lined up on his cockpit and one-shotted him (4ML, Gauss, SRM6). It was very gratifying to see the the way in which his mech instantly crashed to the floor in a smoking wreck. I wish I could do it to the enemy some time.

Immediately after the Stalker driver starts complaining in chat that he had dropped with the Cata who he knew was AFK. It might have helped if he had explained that before he opened fire on our team mate <_<.

Our group will, if possible, give a warning out to those shooting us that we will retaliate. Depends on if they're just shooting a single small weapon or going all out on whether the warning is given...

Tying in with the OP and your post. two players on my team some time ago opened fire on one of my teammates (A PUG) Guess they didn't know they had an Atlas in their 6. Two alphas later the Centurion was dead one shot after that the Raven fell! They started to cry about TK and I just typed, "NEVER shoot my team." and went on to help the team win!

I have a rule about being shot; I forget about the first shot...esp if followed by a "my bad" or something. The second results in my returning the favor with whatever's handy...and for me that usually means 3 UAC 5s/2 MLs or 5 SRM6/5 ML. Typically the shooting stops pretty quickly...one way or the other.

They didn't kill me, fortunately.

Totally agree. First shot is forgivable, especially if they apologize. Anything after that outside of a crowded firefight is free game.

I don't get why some people even need to 'test' their weapons at the start of every match. If you need to,shoot the ground.

I once had a friend shoot me. I turned around and unloaded one full volley (was trying for just my 2 large lasers but hadn't fixed weapon grouping yet). Took off 5%. The shooting stopped after that. Never did get an apology either. (Guess he didn't want to tango with an SRM Stalker after that...)

Yup, field justice. TK usually happens one of two ways. In the heat of a fight or at the start of the match as "field justice".

The first, well, **** happens.

The second, it's because of the real issue. Team Shooting. It's not the TK'ing that I have a problem with, it's the TS'ing.

When people ***** about being TK'ed at the start (because of them TS'ing) I simply say in open chat that the person was team shooting and was dealt with accordingly.

Even if you end up being the one that gets TK'ed by the TS'er when trying to take them out. You still end up leaving them is such a weak state that they become focus, even to pubs, and die quickly enough.

I Tked a guy just last match.
Accidental. Got about 40 meters behind and Atlas and let loose with 6xSRM6s.
Just before I hit the button I saw a light blue, Light Mech jump in between us.
Still hit the button but it was one of those things that as I pressed the button my brain said, "Whoops".
That little bonehead cost me 150Xp and a bunch of C-Bills.

I support TKing of bronies ONLY if they shove their fandom in my face in a match...which they usually cannot resist, so go right ahead folks!
