Ok, so in a few words three spiders vs three ravens, three awesome vs three stalkers..
You can probably guess who will win.
What i would suggest to the dev's is that the mech classes are sub-divided when considering matchmaking.
This would be a three step process (which should be optional for those who do not have an issue being thrown in with whatever)
1. Try and match mechs of the same tonnage so if you get 3 spiders in one team, rather than match up against three ravens, it will try and find 3 mechs of the same tonnage.
2. Failing the first test, match up against the next highest sub-division
3. Failing the second, match up with whatever mechs are available in the right class.
At the moment it seems to just put class v class without considering their tonnage. Many players will not mind this, but if you are going to implement training grounds and private matches, it could be something worthwhile considering - at least to give those players that are pugging more choice over what mechs they drop against.
