I've been hearing the game is fairly CPU heavy which I thought wouldn't be an issue seeing as how I have an FX-6200 OC'ed to 4.1ghz and I've got that paired up with a EVGA GTX 680 which is overclocked as well. But I just want to know if I should be seeing around 20-50 FPS depending on whether I have action on screen or not. I've seen it dip to 20 and just hover there during some intense action in Forest Colony open area. When I've got nothing around me I put out around 40-60fps. This is with all settings maxed out and V-Sync on. Seeing as how the DX11 features aren't even implemented yet what gives? This is the only game that gives me low performance like this. Every other online title I play is a consistent 60fps. I wanted to know if this is a common issue on the game's side or something that's my problem?

P.S. I upgraded my GTX680 from an XFX 7970 and was seeing similar results with that GPU as well.

ASUS Sabertooth 990FX
FX-6200 OC'ed to 4.1GHZ (With Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO Cooling)
EVGA GTX 680 with +150 GPU and +450 MEMORY offset
Corsair HX850 PSU
Coolermaster 922 HAF
8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM 1600mhz

Yup, your FPS are fairly consistent with what a lot of the rest of us are seeing. Until the code is optimized the FPSs are all over the place.

Thanks for the quick response. Has there been any word by PG whether they will be addressing soon or are there other things higher on their priority list right now?

DX11 has been dangled out in front as an implied "maybe next patch". But right now nothing is solid. I would assume that at least some optimizations would need to occur to get DX11 operational, else the overhead demanded by 11 would really hinder people that are already suffering with horrible FPS on DX9.

I wouldn't begrudge the developers on the FPS just yet. DX9 is a decade old at this point (released in Dec 2002) and a known quantity in the developer world. DX9 is holding up while far more underlying game play priorities are worked on first. There is a whole lot more to be considered when jumping up to 11.

Thank you again. I understand that 11 is a bit of a resource hog when implemented incorrectly but as far as I knew I thought it handled some of the rather basic functions of DX9 a little more efficient? Or am I wrong in thinking that?

And I figured there would be more important things in the upcoming patches than optimizations, but I figured this would be fixed once open beta hit. I thought the performance was fine for CB, but this has been out in the wild for a while and you wanna see your money go somewhere lol. Before I bother you with anymore questions can you link me to where the upcoming patch notes are usually posted/discussed?

The biggest things DX11 has over 9 is the inclusion of Tessellation and the ability to accomplish parallel rendering.

These are older but do a decent explanation of perspective from both GPU houses.

Patch notes usually hit us after the patch. But you can find them here: http://mwomercs.com/game/patch-notes
