I'm totally cool with it being in the game, I like things that make me feel more like a pilot than just some guy playing a video game, but I would like the option to turn it off - (pretty much for the reasons already stated).

Additionally, if we're going to discuss immersion, the Bitching Betty is from Clan 'Mechs on a Clan game. (MW2 was a Clan-centric game). Not to say it wasn't copied from Star League era 'Mechs, but the Clans are .. ick ... so, here's one from the Inner Sphere. B)

"Pattern check. Major Justin X. Allard." [FedRat whelp and a traitor.]

"Voiceprint pattern match obtained. Proceed with initiation sequence."

"Code check: Zhe jian fang tai xiao. Authorization code: Alpha Xray Tango Bravo."

"Authorization confirmed. Glad to have you aboard, Major."



I'm sure if I looked through other books I could find others, I just knew where this one was right away.

I really like the animation, It improved my immersion. I used to play the mechwarrior rpg. Before the animation was added I could only watch a countdown timer and that broke immersion for me. It just felt like another sim game to me. Now I get the sense of being a mechwarrior. I would like to eventually see faction based uniform choices for your avatar

Aside from "they'd better" - that's awesome. I like immersion, I like roleplay, BT universe is one of the great advantages of MWO over WoT for me. It won't bore me hundreds matches later.

I won't object if they will put some effort in cockpit redesign (they actually do this from time to time, I noticed that overhead beam with probably ejection button disappeared). Pushing little rotating ***** in Jenner cockpit seems little strange.

Will we ever, ever see ejection implemented?.. Dreams.

Edited: What? I can't type the word "k n 0 b s"? These little rotating handles with blue dials around them in Jenner cockpit? How could it be censored?

Only thing I would add is they get rid of the dead silence before the animation. The hum of the engine was nice before.

Sounds like a lot of people never really played MW2, and how this was the norm every mission. Controls were always locked out, and you had the computer tells you the details of the planet.

As for the most of the complainers, I'm sure you alt+tab during the start up anyway before and after. On top of that, it's just something to complain about since it was added later. If this was done since the game began, it'd be the norm for you.

My impression on the startup animation.

First impression: WTF?
Second impression: Cool!
Third impression: Omg, the match already started.

About 1-2 seconds of non-animated MechCockpit would be nice to avoid "disorientation" at the beginning of the match.
(should be implementable by starting the startup animation 1-2 seconds before the countdown starts).

However I think we will get used to the startup animation soon enough anyways. So that's not too much of an issue.

Lol, that will be a matter of opinion... (I know it will lose the shiny effect with time, but I don't think I'll ever be like "really getting tired of this thing"

ps: what's up with the unnatural glow of the internal instruments/panels inside the cockpit?
it's like someone is deliberately holding a flashlight against them just to purposely screw with your eyes

Are there any changes to override ? I didn't notice anything except that the mech takes longer to go off shutfown when you mash "O" after an overheat. Thought it was a nerf to heat-boating builds, like PPCs (lol nerf -> PPCs -> seewhatididthar :tf: ).

Other than that I thought the power-up animation looked really cool on my stalker, but the one shown in the Death Knell video (the Commando one) is ****** as hell, all glitchy, pilot pressing invisible buttons, etc... sad for a promotionnal video.
