The startup sequence, the netcode improvements...best patch for ages.

Thanks PGI!

Why is it so delayed?

Like instead of "Reactor, online. Sensors, online. Weapons, online. All systems nominal" it's like this:

Reactor, online.

........
........
..............................

Sensors, online....Weapons, online..........................

..
All systems.... Nominal

Because it's timed to fit the animations...

Just wanted to throw my thank you in as well. This patch has been great. I don't know what they did but the game seems way more clear. My friend who is sniping today is also loving it.

I have also noticed a huge difference in fighting lights. I almost feel bad for them now cause I see them getting taken down way easier thinking they can run in and solo 4-6 guys alone.

Thank you!

I like this patch, the start up sequence didn't get old last night. As for the netcode improvements, I knew they were coming, I knew PGI would be quiet about it and I knew they wouldn't fix all the issues in one patch. However the fixes hasn't changed my game play very much. Lights are a little bit easier for me to hit, but that's about it. This is probably because I already have a great and consistent ping to PGI's North American servers and because I'm not a very good shot.

Still the patch felt stable, I had few graphics problems, but I rarely had them to be honest. I've only seen the 4 FPS memory leak bug once since the closed beta, and was plagued by the yellow screen bug prior to this but since the 2nd to last patch those have been rare occurrences.

What I did see last night was my mini map getting stuck at the start position and I couldn't tell where anything was on it making for a tough game. But that didn't occur again. And I had a yellow screen when coming back from a heat shutdown condition and I solved that by shutting down and starting up again to clear the screen. Granted the other team shot me to bits... and that was unfun, but I don't blame them. I would have done the same thing if I were them.

For those of you having performance issues, you shouldnt be.. im running an e5200 2.5ghz to 3.5 oc. dual core.. lga 775, 4 gig ram , radeon 6850.
I had MASSIVE performance problems, but they fixed that 6 weeks or so ago.

Remember, clean up ur cpu everyonce and a while. I use advanced system care, the free version.
Downloading , this game, hawken, planetside etc plus the patches, things happen to pcs. Back when this game was unplayable, i played a round of tribes ascend and was like wtf>? running like crap..
Ran advanced sys care and viola.

I used to have to run all low, user config files, super low. and still no performance.
THey have made big improvements,, massive ones.. I run all medium now with shadows and something else on low, slightly under native<1680x1050> to something else and ive been running msi vid capture..
I easily average 45 fps, rarely dip under 25 and often over 60fps.

So test n make sure everythings aok. clean it up, benchmark etc.
my upgrade cost 300 usd 5 years ago.. My cpu is a 75 usd cpu... My vid card can probably be found on ebay for 40 bucks now.

Game is starting to really become very enjoyable... though its only 20% done.
STAY THIRSTY MY FRIENDS> !!!!

In terms of raw FPS no, worse running a 2500k@ 4.5ghz with a 4GB GTX 670 FTW, 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz, pre patch i would never go below 50FPS and 99% of the time it would be between 55-60FPS.

Already in 3 games i have played since patch i have seen far more dips into 40's and even mid 30's.

Gonna reinstall tomorrow see if something got messed up, ping wise, that has been higher in the last 2 weeks but that is not necessarily the game.

Uninstall, Deep clean of anything related to MWO, reinstall seems to have resolved the issue.

Yep, great patch. It feels so good to actually hit what you're aiming at <_<
Game is much more fun now! And I think the memory leaks also stopped/became much more rare.

This game just became a million times better when they included the startup sequence.
The only thing I would change, pre-game wise, would be the shading. I wanna see my cockpit clearly when I turn my 'mech on.
Still unhappy with the lack of action concerning ECM.

I also got yellow screened last night. No black screen / animation freeze issues thus far. *knock on wood*

Loving the new startup sequence.

Had a guy complain that lagshield was not fixed, but he had 800ms ping, so we shook our heads & laughed.

I just patched today...

First attempt was a black screen after loading...

Second attempt involved worse fps and longer fire delays for me...

I used to be able to play fine...

I hope they are able to fix the fps for the people who got a drop but for me personally this patch bumped me from 20fps back up to 40fps.

If it's yellow screen and not mine craft screen you can right shift F11 and it will cancel out yellow screen but you won't have a hud.

Will still make the game playable cause you can see but you will need to fire something to figure out where to aim and then fire your other stuff.

I'm happy with the patch as well. Whatever tweaks to CryEngine were done and the fixing of memory leaks has greatly improved my game play experience. For the past two months or so, I was only able to play about three games before I had to shut down and restart MWO. If I didn't, it was a guarantee that the fourth launch would be an unplayable slide show or black screen.

Last night I was able to play game after game without suffering any performance issues.
