I am certainly seeing improved net code and its nice hitting lights again.

Oddly enough though, my ping is WAYYY up too. I am in Toronto so I live near the servers. I always got 20ms pings, like clockwork.

Now I get 60ish, pretty much every mech.

At the end of the day, I am getting a much better experience, but it is odd that my ping tripled.

Anyone else getting this?

My ping seems to have increased too, but everything seems to be exactly where it appears to be now. Perhaps the the ping calculation was off before?

I'm going to bet it's due to the larger server load that always occurs on patch day. More people downloading, more people playing (by a lot). It should settle down soon.

Still having ping issues that was brought up from the last patch. Seems to be an issue regarding Fios users for those living in the States. Used to run around ~20ms and now a ridiculous 150-200ms spikes. Good to know they focus on silly little things like start-up animations.

I average 45-50, it's been 75-80 since patch. I can't notice a difference in game. (if anything it's a little better, only raged shooting at a Raven once and his was 500+)

I feel like I'm having a harder time hitting lights now that I was before Q_Q

Well off and on, I was having lights run straight at me and take no damage. But it seemed like everyone was having trouble hitting the same lights I couldn't hit :/

Odds are he was oversea's or watching Netflix and streaming Debby does Dallas while playing. Did you catch his ping? On my end it looks like the lag shield is SIGNIFICANTLY less noticeable on players running under 200-250

Constant in the range of 145 - 155 ms, which is fine for a connection to a West Coast NA server. Admittedly the issues I've had with my connection were never directly related to the game, but with some wonky routing going on in France.

I'm having this exact problem. My ping went from 50 to 180 in the patch-before-last. It's really irritating, and makes ballistics hard to use.

Running a traceroute, the ping jumps at the peering gateway for tinet.net and stays there until the intermediate jumps stop responding (jump 12). I wish I had a baseline to compare before the patch. Fios customer in the Philadelphia area. :\

I am experiencing the same thing. Prior to the Jan 15th patch my ping was between 60-80ms and never had a problem hitting torso locations on mechs that aren't lights. Now my ping is 160-200ms and I have had to lag shoot just about every mech. I've done tests on my service from speakeasy and speedtest and both come back with pings in the 70's, zero packet loss, 0-2% jitter. It's very odd that it is only happening with MWO. I've also submitted a ticket, went through their process to look at my connection speeds and their response was pretty poor. First off they think I'm on a shared service like I'm playing in a hotel or school. I have my own plan for my single family home that I live in. Then they mention to shut off firewall and antivirus, which I've tried and told them that the problem persists with both being turned off. Also, they mention not to download anything while playing. All this I've mentioned to them when submitting the problem. It's like they didn't even read my e-mail.

BTW, I'm also a Verizon customer. I just don't have FioS as it is not available in my area.

My ping went up to around 90-100 in the last patch but this new patch brought it back down:) for me to around 80.

East coast ISP ping as tested against west coast 64.
Ping Planetside 2 with 1000 players on server 64.
Ping WOW 64
Ping Pre patch MWO 74
Ping post patch MWO 246
Yeh something don't add up here when the ping for an east coast MWO server is more than 3 times higher then for anything else.

Ping jumps around like a frog on Meth.... Yeah I have noticed it go from 27 to 326, "NOT" during peak times for the unwashed masses using the internet... Weird huh..?? I blame Brazil... LOL
